3D Dot Heroes

3D Dot Game Heroes is an action adventure game with RPG elements, similar in fashion to The Legend of Zelda on the old Nintendo, with 2-D style retro graphics which resemble Lego blocks. Like in Zelda, players move from screen to screen, exploring new areas, fighting monsters, and collecting weapons and other items.

Long ago, the Dark King Onyx brought evil to the Dotina Kingdom by stealing six magical orbs, before a hero could rise up and vanquish the Dark King with his legendary sword. Now, the Dark Bishop Fuelle has found the magical orb and cast Dotina back into ruin. Only a new hero can restore balance to the Kingdom and destroy the Dark Bishop.

The game received generally positive reviews, with an average score of 78%. It's been called a fun flashback to a nostalgic time when 8-bit games ruled, with not only a homage to Zelda, but references to other classic Nintendo games.

This game requires 3 full playthroughs for the platinum. But it's not just time that you'll need, but skill as well - and patience! For the Spelunker Extraordinaire! trophy, you'll have to clear the most difficult mode in the game, which means only one hit from an enemy and you're dead.

Also, the Flawless Hero! trophy requires you to play from start to finish without ever dying. This means constantly saving, saving, and more saving during a full playthrough.

Not an impossible Platinum, by any means. Just very frustrating at times.

Since you WILL need to play this game three times, we recommend starting on Normal difficulty. During this run, save often and always reload your save if you die, so that by the end you can earn the Flawless Hero! trophy. Also, work on the Bestiary Complete! trophy by recording all the monsters in the game. And, avoid rescuing the fairies Ai and Sue during this playthrough, so as to net you The Adventure Continues... trophy.

Next, start a new game with "SPELUNKER" as your character name, which will automatically put you in the Spelunker mode. This can be tough, and many enemies will kill you with just one hit. Also, the You're A Survivor! trophy requires you to play Spelunker mode for 10 hours. If you played close to the end but still haven't gotten the trophy, simply hang out in a safe area until you hear the 'bling'.

Lastly, start another new game and select FROM mode. Here, you'll want to mop up any missing trophies. Check out the Walkthroughs as well as the 3D Dot Trophy Guide links under our Links tab for detailed suggestions and advice.
