Devil May Cry 3 HD

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening is an action hack-and-slash, first released on the PlayStation 2 in 2005, and was revamped in HD with trophy support as part of the Devil May Cry Collection in 2012, which also included the two prequels. The player fights numerous enemies in stylish combat using a variety of combos, with each mission granting a letter grade based on the player's performance.

Taking place before the events of the first Devil May Cry title, Dante has just set up his demon-hunting agency. During a dysfunctional relationship with his brother Virgil, he is challenged to fight his way up the Temen-ni-gru Tower and face his sibling, attempting to stop him from merging the human and demon worlds together.

Devil May Cry 3 received positive reviews, with an average score of 90%. It was praised for having returned to the style of the original DMC title, as well as its great storyline and added customization features.

Considered more difficult than the second game, but arguably as challenging as the first in the series. The boss battles are somewhat easier than the original DMC, but where the game makes up for challenge is time consumption, as you will probably need at least six or seven playthroughs for the platinum.

Overall, expect about 40 or more hours on this puppy.

If you're new to the Devil May Cry series and wish to start on Easy mode, this is possible by dying three times on Normal. Otherwise, to save time, we recommend just playing through on Normal from beginning to end. During this first of many playthroughs, try to complete all the Secret Missions along the way, and find all the Blue Orb Fragments, by using one of the collectible guides under our Links tab. Also, for The Path Less Traveled trophy, you will need to clear every mission in Yellow Orb mode. If you don't wish to do this on the more difficult modes later, nor do you wish to add another playthrough to your trophy hunting, you can do this on Normal and get it out of the way.

Once that's finished, you will need to play four more times. Yes, that's right. Once on Hard, then Very Hard, then Dante Must Die, and finally Heaven Or Hell mode, in order to earn each of the four respected trophies.

Finally, you will need to playthrough using Yellow Orbs as Virgil. The good news is, you can do this run on Easy mode. And after having finished the more difficult settings, this should feel like a cakewalk in comparison.

With all those playthroughs finished, there is the Bloody Palace mode to complete, which is a survival mode. This will unlock three more trophies: Blood Sweat And Tears, Blood Donor, and Bloody Hell.

Hopefully, you will have unlocked the Platinum at this point. If not, just use the Mission Select to mop-up anything you're missing.
