G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a third-person action shooter, based on the 2009 film of the same name. Players make their way through missions with a partner, either an NPC or two-player co-op, using various characters each with distinct classes. Only Joseph Gordon-Levitt reprises his role as Cobra Commander, while the other characters are performed by voice actors.
Taking place following the events of the film, Cobra is plotting several schemes across the globe, and it's up to the members of G.I. Joe to stop each and every one of them, taking them to the Arctic, Egypt, a jungle, and finally the North Pole.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra received generally lukewarm to negative reviews, with an average score of 49%, mainly criticized for its repetitiveness and overall poor graphics and presentation.
This is a low 2-star rating, as the game is far easier than Assassin's Creed II or any of the Uncharted titles. If playing with a friend, it's possible to get the majority of the trophies in one playthrough, with some mopping-up afterwards. If playing on your own, most likely you will need two full run-throughs. There are a number of collectibles to gather, as well.
Despite not having any online trophies, there are a few which require at least a second controller. If playing on your own, these can be tricky, though are possible. With a friend, they're extremely easy. Also, it's worth mentioning there's a glitch which allows for a certain player-character to become invincible, also adding to the ease of the game.
Overall, expect to get the Platinum after 15-25 hours of gameplay, depending whether or not you have a partner to play with.
If you have a friend to play with, you can jump into Hardcore mode. However, if you're playing on your own, you may want to start on Casual, since at times you'll need to be handling two controllers at once.
During your first playthrough, you will need at least one mission cleared with two-player co-op. Though there are a few other co-op related trophies which you'll need to perform, as well. In addition, there are a number of trophies related to playing missions with particular characters or character classes, so you can get those out of the way as well. As you make your way through the game, make sure to follow one of the walkthroughs or guides under our Links tab to find all the collectibles, such as the File and Intel cards.
Once that's done, and if you haven't do so already, you can move on to Hardcore. This can be frustrating at times, because if you die, you will need to replay the entire mission. Also, you cannot revive a downed Joe.
After that, if there are any trophies you're missing, simply use the Mission Select to get what you need, and follow the advice in the G I Joe The Rise of Cobra trophy guide links under our Links tab.
