Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book is an RPG and the 17th title in the main Atelier series which began in 1997, and is the first game in the Mysterious storyline. Players roam the world in search of materials and alchemy recipes to create weapons, armor, tools and other items to aid in the quests. The game has a new alchemy-centric system, reformed from previous titles, as well as a Dollmake feature which allows for customization of Plachta using alchemy-created costume items.

Sophie lives on the outskirts of the small town of Kirchen Bell, where she attempts to become an alchemist without the help of a mentor or guide. After countless failed attempts, she discovers a mysterious book that seems to possess a soul. As Sophie improves her Alchemy skills through the book's help, she begins to uncover its origins.

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book received generally favorable reviews with an average score of 76%, praised for its simple but entertaining battles, engaging story and character, while both praised and criticized for not adding anything new to the series.

Since the game can be played on Easy mode, the Platinum is not particularly difficult, and only requires a bit of time. With the exception of two missable trophies to watch out for, all others can be obtained after completing the main story.

Expect around 30-35 hours for the Platinum.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 share the same list with those on the PS3 and PS Vita.

ALSO NOTE: The PS3 version is only available in Japanese.

First, it should be noted that there are no difficulty-related trophies. So if you wish to make things easier and quicker, feel free to play on Easy mode.

For the most part, you can play through the main story and beat the game. There are only two trophies you need to keep an eye on, as they are missable. The Monika Singing On The Stage trophy requires you to witness Monika's CG concert event. During her events, after giving her 15 Simple Sweets, you need to attend her concert the following day, or it will be missed. And the Challenge From Plachta trophy requires you to synthesize a Philosopher's Stone - which needs a Level 45 alchemy - before the Go Meet Luard event.

As long as you managed to unlock those two missable trophies, you can play through and beat the game. Afterwards, you'll be free to work on the remaining trophies. There isn't really any particular order to do these, though if you're in need of some direction, we recommend first completing the remaining Character Events, if you haven't already. There are also a few other miscellaneous trophies which you can obtain at this point as well. Be sure to check out the Atelier Sophie The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you still need and their requirements.

We recommend leaving the optional boss related trophies for last, since these will be the more difficult challenges. There are six trophies related to these in total, with the ultimate goal of unlocking The Cruel Violator trophy.
