Super Robot Wars X
Super Robot Wars X is a tactical role-playing game and the ninth standalone title in the series, which features a cross-over of various mecha anime, manga, and games, including Mobile Suit Gundam F91, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, Mashin Hero Wataru, Buddy Complex, and more. In a turn-based system, players order their units with such commands as move, attack, form squads, or cast Spirit Commands which are unique magic-like spells. Following each battle, units can be upgraded, while characters can have their skills and stats either upgraded or altered.
Taking place in the fantasy world of Al-Warth, a deserter from the Magic Church has been summoned to become the savior by defeating the evil Doakdar.
Super Robot Wars X received lukewarm reviews with an average score of 73%, praised for its improvements over the previous installment, battle system, and being geared towards fans of its source material, though criticized for its story and lack in much change over the previous game.
The game requires some strategy, but is not particularly difficult. Especially for those with experience with either the Super Robot Wars series, or tactical RPG games in general. The 3-star difficulty is more for the time required. Two full playthroughs are required, one for each of the two main characters. Luckily, all your data such as money, TacP, and kill count, will carry over from your first playthrough to the second, making mopping-up any missed trophies a lot easier.
Expect around 100-120 hours of gameplay for the Platinum.
NOTE The trophies on the PS4 share the same list with those on the PS Vita.
If you have experience playing the previous Super Robot Wars V, then you’ll know exactly what is expected, as the roadmap is generally the same. Two full playthroughs are required, one for each of the two protagonists.
Start by selecting whichever protagonist, male or female, you want to begin with, and play through the game in its entirety.
There are 12 missable trophies, which are Emblem Collector for getting all 5 emblems, Pilot Trainer for achieving Ace Pilot status with 30 pilots, Tuner for earning a custom bonus for 30 units, Money Kaiser for earning 100,000 funds in one battle, Top Gun, Peak Production for unlocking all power parts in the vault, Skill Collector for creating 30 types of skill programs, Mental Fortitude, SR Point Hoarder for obtaining 51 SR points, Five In A Row, Top-Secret Mission for completing a scenario, and the Fiery Spirit trophy. Be sure to check out the Super Robot Wars X trophy guide links under our Links tab for more details.
It’s entirely possible to get all missable trophies in your first playthrough, and recommended if you have experience with the Super Robot Wars series. However, if you’re new to the series and simply wish to learn the mechanics and enjoy the game on your first run, you can. All trophies can be mopped up on your second playthrough.
Once you’ve finished your first playthrough, it’s time to start a New Game+. Make sure to select the other protagonist in order to unlock the Overseer Of The Two Stories trophy, and use the Data Migration to carry over all your money, Tac Pts, and stats. If there are any other trophies you’re still missing, now is the time to unlock them.
If you managed to unlock everything along the way, then you should have earned the Overseer Of The Two Stories trophy after having played the game with each protagonist, and a new Platinum trophy for your collection.
