The Walking Dead: The Final Season

The Walking Dead: The Final Season is a third-person point-and-click graphic adventure, based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman. The game is the fourth and final installment in Telltale’s The Walking Dead series. Telltale Games developed the first two episodes, up until their bankruptcy in October 2018, while the final two episodes were completed by Skybound Games. Similar to previous titles in the series, players solve puzzles, interact with other characters, and make choices which can impact future events in the story.

Taking place three years after the events of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, Clementine is on the road with AJ, whom she continues to raise herself, teaching him how to survive in the post-apocalypse. Following a car accident, they are invited to stay at Ericson’s Boarding School for Troubled Youth, run by its surviving students. However, a new threat looms on the horizon for Clementine, AJ, and the kids at the school.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season received overall positive reviews across its four seasons, with an average score of 77%. The game was praised for its characterization, story choices, and overall improvement over its predecessors, though criticized by some for redundant free-roaming gameplay and some technical issues.

Unlike other games in The Walking Dead series, the Platinum for The Final Season cannot be unlocked in one playthrough, and will require some backtracking using the chapter select. Also, the game includes some collectibles to find, and other miscellaneous trophies. However, while you can’t simply play through the story and automatically get the Platinum, this is still an easy game with a guide.

Expect around 8-12 hours of gaming for the Platinum, depending on how much backtracking you do.

If you simply want to play through and enjoy the story, you can. Just be aware that unless you make some strategic backup saves, you will need to do a lot of backtracking with the Episode Select. Otherwise, you can use one of the Walking Dead The Final Season trophy guide links and guides under our Links tab to unlock as many trophies as you can on your first playthrough, and risk spoiling the story. The choice is yours.

It should be noted that each of the four Episodes contains a few collectibles to find, as well as some miscellaneous trophies. Again, check out the Walking Dead The Final Season trophy guide links under our Links tab to get familiar with each set per episode, so you’ll know what to watch out for and not miss anything.

Only Episode 4 will allow you to unlock all its trophies in one playthrough, provided that you’re following a guide for finding all the collectibles and completing the miscellaneous trophies.

In Episode 1, you will need to select to either go hunting or fish. Select Fishing if you are aiming to get all the collectibles. Also, hunting will require another two selections, so either make a backup save on the PS+ Cloud or a portable HD if you wish to avoid backtracking.

In Episode 2, you will need to select to either following Violet or Louis. Each choice has a trophy tied to it.

Finally, in Episode 4, you will need to choose to either have confidence in AJ or not, which again will lead to the possibility of unlocking two different trophies.
