Dust: An Elysian Tail

Dust: An Elysian Tail is a 2D side-scrolling action role-playing game with platforming elements, originally an Xbox exclusive in 2012, until being ported onto the PlayStation 4 two years later. The player-character uses a sword as his main weapon, while a companion may use magical attacks. Defeating weapons gains the player experience which can be used to increase various attributes such as health or magic.

After awakening in a forest meadow, Dust encounters a strange, floating sword known as the Blade of Ahrah. Along with Fidget, a flying creature and the sword’s guardian, the two set off in search of answers regarding the mysterious sword.

Dust: An Elysian Tail received positive reviews with an average score of 81%, praised for its gameplay, detailed environment, and story, though received mixed reviews on its combat system and voice acting.

This is a low 2-star difficulty. While the Challenge Arenas can be a bit tricky, the game is overall not particularly difficult. If following a roadmap and making some strategic saves, the Platinum can be unlocked in a single playthrough.

Expect roughly 15-20 hours for the Platinum trophy.

In order to avoid a second playthrough, you’ll want to start your game on at least Tough mode, to unlock the Above And Beyond The Call trophy.

For the most part, play through the game while completing as many side-quests as you can.

Once you reach the Out To Dry quest, you will want to make a manual save just before heading off to retrieve the clothes for Corbin. Afterwards, Fidget will propose throwing them into a bush of poison ivy. Select not to throw them, and you will unlock the Paragon trophy. Then, reload your save and opt to throw them in the poison ivy, unlocking the Renegade trophy.

From then on, continue as normal. Once you reach Chapter 5, you’ll have the opportunity to destroy all the cannons for the Silence Those Guns trophy, and hopefully be high enough to get all the combo-related trophies.

Once all that is finished, and your character is strong enough, it is time to head into the Challenge Arenas. Your goal here is to get a four-star rating on all the challenges, in order to unlock The Stuff Of Legends trophy.

Finally, it’s time to mop-up any outstanding trophies. Be sure to check out the Dust An Elysian Tail trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you still need, and their requirements.
