Burly Men At Sea

Burly Men At Sea is a cross between a visual novel and a point-and-click adventure. Players become the storyteller as they guide the protagonists, having them perform actions and make decisions, which can alter the course of the story. The game repeats itself in a loop so that the player has the chance to explore each possible story and ending.

Told as a folktale, three Burly Bearded Men named Hasty Beard, Brave Beard, and Steady Beard, discover a bottle drifting at sea which contains a map. Setting sail to discover the meaning of the map, the three Burly Bearded Men encounter adventures and creatures from Scandinavian folklore.

Burley Men At Sea received positive reviews from critics with an average score of 78%, praised for its artistic visuals, music, and story, though criticized by some for its short gameplay and repetitive aspects.

While the Platinum requires a minimum of 12 playthroughs, each playthrough is quite short. There is no skill required, as you simply move your character around and interact with objects, much like a point-and-click adventure. All trophies are either linked to one of the multiple endings in the story, or for performing a specific action which is often required anyway for reaching a particular ending.

If you are following a walkthrough, the Platinum can be earned in just a few hours.

There are 12 possible endings to the game, which means you will need at least 12 playthroughs. All other trophies are related to events performed throughout the game. If you are following one of the walkthroughs under our Links tab, you will automatically unlock these trophies on your route to the Platinum.

The game loops from the selected ending to the beginning again, allowing you to replay until you’ve experienced each of the endings and unlocked the Platinum. In a nutshell, the endings can be divided into three sections.

The first set have to do with choosing to wear barrels when exiting the whale, which can result in four different endings.

The second set is when you choose not to wear the barrels, which again has four endings associated with this.

The third and final set occur when you sit and wait inside the whale, which connects with the last four endings.

If you wish to unlock all endings and thereby all trophies with as little time as possible, we highly recommend following one of the walkthroughs under our Links tab, which will take you step-by-step through each of the possible stories. Also, if you need any details regarding a particular trophy, be sure to check out the Burley Men At Sea trophy guide links under our Links tab.
