Velocity 2X

Velocity 2X is a fast-paced shoot'em up with puzzle elements, and a sequel to the 2012 Velocity. The game features two modes, one in which players control a ship as a top-down shoot'em up, and another where the ship has been docked and the player runs on foot as a side-scrolling puzzle platformer.

Set two centuries in the future, Lt. Kai Tana is a soldier on a mission; to destroy all Vohk and bring peace back to the galaxy.

Velocity 2X received positive reviews with an average score of 89%, praised for added side-scrolling feature, music, presentation, and its overall fun and rewarding challenge.

The game itself is quite short. However, its fast-pace demands some great shoot'em up skills, serious maneuverability, and quick reflexes. The hardest obstacle on the way to the Platinum will be getting Perfect on every level, which means fulfilling all the level's requirements while doing so under a strict time, and not dying. While this is doable for most average players, it will require much practice and patience.

Expect anywhere between 15-40 hours for the Platinum, depending on your skills.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 share the same list with those on the PS Vita.

You'll first want to play through the levels and complete the game, where you'll unlock a number of trophies naturally. Along the way, there are a few level-specific trophies which you can take care of now. Check out the Velocity 2X trophy guide links under our Links tab for more details on those.

There are also collectibles to find, in the form of 43 Data Packs and Ralan Crystals, which you'll eventually need all of them for the Data Miner trophy, and for unlocking all the bonus levels for the Bonus Onus trophy, respectively. Since the game doesn't keep track of which levels you found the collectibles, it's a good idea to write them down if you're not going for them all during your initial playthrough.

Next, after you've unlocked all 25 bonus levels, it's time to play them, which will earn you the Ralan's Mission trophy.

After that, it's time for the hardest part of the game: getting Perfect on all levels. This means fulfilling all the goals for each level, while not dying. For each level, all the criteria must be met at the same time. While the earlier levels are not too bad, you'll probably notice the jump in difficulty towards Level 27 or 28. The key is practice, and don't lose your patience. Check out some of the videos under our Links tab if you're struggling with this.

Finally, with the hardest trophies out of the way, it's just a matter of mopping-up whatever you still need for the Platinum. Be sure to check out the Velocity 2X trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you still need, and their requirements.
