Homefront

Homefront is a first-person shooter which takes place in the near-future of a military occupied Western United States. The game includes both a single-player campaign, and a large-scale online multiplayer, which was shut down in February 2013.

Taking place in the 2020s, after a number of global catastrophes and wars, the United States is now separated between the free Eastern States and the Korean People's Army controlled Western States. Robert Jacobs is a former U.S. Marine Corp combat helicopter pilot, who joins a resistance group intent on terrorizing and fighting back the KPA.

Homefront received generally positive reviews, with an average score of 74%, praised for its multiplayer mode, setting and presentation, while criticized for its short single-player campaign.

The online servers for Homefront had been powered by GameSpy, which unfortunately saw its fate sealed on February 21, 2013 when it was closed by IGN's new owner, Ziff Davis. All servers for games powered by GameSpy went offline, including Homefront.

As a result, the 10 online trophies can no longer be unlocked, marking the Platinum as Not Obtainable.

The 10 online trophies can no longer be unlocked, due to the closure of GameSpy's online service. However, there are still 37 offline trophies which can be earned. So if you're interested, read on.

It's up to you whether you try to collect all the trophies in one go (which we don't recommend) or split your efforts into two or three playthroughs. The single-player campaign is not long, and will only take 5-10 hours on Normal, depending on your skills. But at some point, you will need to complete the game on Guerilla difficulty, which is the hard mode, and is no cakewalk. Also, you will need to complete the game without dying. This is, as you can see, why we recommend at least two playthroughs.

In addition to automatically unlocking trophies for completing each chapter, there is a challenge within each chapter that must be completed. Also, there are collectibles in the form of News Pickups, of which you will need all 61 to unlock the Historian trophy. Check out the collectible guides and walkthroughs under our Links tab for this.
