L.A. Noire PS4

L.A. Noire is a third-person action crime game with a neo-noire backdrop, first released on the PS3 in May 2011, and ported onto the PS4 in November 2017. Set in Los Angeles in 1947, players solve cases by interrogating suspects while reading their facial features, as well as engaging in hand-to-hand combat, gunfights, and foot and car chases. The PS4 version adds updates to the graphics, frame-rate, and slight changes to the interrogations.

Cole Phelps is a uniformed patrolman, climbing the ranks in the LAPD after successfully investigating a murder with his partner, Officer Ralph Dunn, and continuing to unravel the mysteries behind a brutal murder.

L.A. Noire received high praise, with an average score of 89%, as well as winning several awards from various gaming publications. The game was noted for having an intriguing story, great atmosphere, and was described as being fresh and original.

If you've played other Rockstar titles, such as Grand Theft Auto IV or V, then you'll have an idea of what's involved for this platinum. The good news is, L.A. Noire is far less time consuming, and there are no online trophies to worry about.

The game involves one playthrough with no missable trophies, then spending your time mopping-up, which includes replaying cases to get five-star ratings, finding some collectibles, and various other challenges. Not difficult, but expect around 30-40 hours of gameplay.

NOTE: The PS4 version has a separate trophy list from the PS3. Also, the PS4 version adds 2 new trophies in the New Collections DLC.

Before you begin, you may want to link your game to a created account on the Rockstar Social Club. Not only will this grant you a bonus suit in the game, but more importantly, you can check your progress through their online 100% Checklist, which will come in handy later.

Otherwise, just sit back and enjoy the game, from beginning to end. Don't worry about failing to get five-stars on your case files, as you can replay these later on. You may also wish to drive yourself everywhere, until you've unlocked the Miles On The Clock trophy, and change cars whenever possible, as well as frequent different weapons.

Once you've finished the game, you can now go back and replay story cases that you've not yet earned five stars. If you switch off the Clue Hints and Action Skip, it will be easier to earn a higher score.

Afterwards, the reset is a matter of mopping up. This may include finding all 50 gold film reels, any other various challenges you're missing, and reaching 100% game completion.
