2064: Read Only Memories

2064: Read Only Memories is a cyberpunk point-and-click adventure game, taking place in the year 2064 AD in Neo-San Francisco. Players solve puzzles in order to progress through the story, as well as make decisions in dialogue which can result in other NPC characters either liking or disliking the player-character. The game includes several different endings, based on the decisions made by the player.

In the future, personal assistant robots called ROMs (Relationship and Organizational Managers) have replaced computers and smartphones. One of their lead engineers, Hayden Webber, has been kidnapped. A struggling journalist and friend of Hayden tries to find his missing friend, along with the help of Turning, a self-modifying robot with the ability to create emotions.

2064: Read Only Memories received positive reviews with an average score of 78%, praised for its engaging characters and story, humor, and its overall emotional experience, though criticized by some for its occasional frustrating puzzles and issues with the gameplay.

This is a low 2-star difficulty rating. Since this is a point-and-click adventure game, the Platinum is generally both quick and easy, if you are using one of the guides or walkthroughs under our Links tab. There are a few trophies related to different endings, which means at least two full playthroughs are required, and a few reloads of a strategically made save point. What makes this a 2-star difficulty is that there are a few tricky, even luck-based trophies, as well as some missable trophies to watch out for. Though again, if you are following a guide, these shouldn't be a problem.

Expect around 15-20 hours for the Platinum if you're using a guide, and depending on how much text-skipping you do.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 share the same list with those on the PS Vita.

First, it should be noted that the game allows up to eight save slots. It's a good idea to save before doing any puzzles in case you mess up, but be careful not to save over any strategically placed points which you can use later for unlocking the multiple endings. This should include Chapter 5, which you can reload for getting the other endings, later on.

You'll need to do two full playthroughs, one for the All Good Things trophy where all the characters like you, and a second for the No Heart To Break trophy where everyone hates you. After that, you should be able to reload previous save points to unlock the rest of the endings, and their respective trophies.

It doesn't really matter which path you take first, as long as you are consistent. For the All Good Things trophy, you'll want to be kind to all the other characters. In many cases, this is the top dialogue option. Also, be sure to listen to all of Turning's monologues. During this playthrough, you'll be unlocking several story-related trophies naturally. However, there are some missable ones you can collect as well. Be sure to check out the 2064 Read Only Memories trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what to unlock in each chapter, or follow one of the walkthroughs under our Links tab.

On a final note, during this playthrough, be sure to make a strategic save in Chapter 5 before retrieving the research data. You can use this save later on, when working towards unlocking the other endings.

To get the No Heart To Break trophy, you'll need to do a completely fresh playthrough. This time, however, you'll want all the characters to hate you, which is often done by selecting the bottom dialogue option, as well as avoid hearing Turning's monologues.

Also, if this is your second playthrough, and you've already made your strategic save in Chapter 5, then it's a good opportunity to go for the Iron ROM trophy, which requires you to play through the entire game without reloading any previous saves.

Finally, if you've managed to get through your two playthroughs and unlocked all the missable trophies, you should only have three more at this point to get the Platinum. Here is where you can reload your Chapter 5 save. You'll need to be friends with Turning, but failing to get all of Hayden's research data for The Sacrifice trophy, have Turning dislike you while also failing to get all the research data for the Complicity trophy, and fail to stabilize Turning at the end of the game for the Flatline trophy.
