PlayStation Plus Free Games March 2023

Happy Valentine’s Day! And to celebrate the romance in the air, Sony is releasing three very romantic games for their next batch of freebies. And by very romantic, we mean not at all. But still worth checking out! And so, here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games March 2023 available for download on Tuesday, March 7.

First, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Battlefield 2042, last year’s title in the Battlefield series. As the twelfth main installment, Battlefield 2042 differs from previous titles in that the game is solely multiplayer. Use an arsenal of futuristic weapons as you take down enemies in first-person shooting combat with three main gameplay modes.

Also, for the PS4, there’s Minecraft Dungeons. This spin-off from the Minecraft game was released in 2020. The game is a dungeon crawler with point-and-click hack and slash action which can be played solo or with a friend.

Lastly, for the PS4, there’s Code Vein, the 2019 action-RPG developed by Bandai Namco Studios. Inspired by such titles as Dark Souls and God Eater 3, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian open-world, where human corpses are brought back to life to fight emerging monsters.

All three titles in the PlayStation Plus free games March 2023 line-up have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Among them, Minecraft Dungeons is by far the easiest Platinum. Not a particularly difficult game, the Platinum will take between 15-20 hours depending on whether you play co-op or take your time in solo.

Code Vein is also not a particularly difficult Platinum. However, due to obtaining the required multiple endings, as well as a there being a trophy which requires grinding, expect around 75 hours of gameplay for this one.

Lastly, as you might expect from a multiplayer first-person shooter, the Platinum trophy for Battlefield 2042 is not an easy one to acquire, and will take well over 100 hours of gameplay. Players have also reported that some modes are void of players, which makes unlocking trophies all the more difficult.

Minecraft Expansion 10 DLC Now Available

Mojang has just released another addition to their open-world crafting game, labled as the Minecraft Expansion 10 DLC for the PlayStation 4. Like their previous DLC Expansion packs, this one is also free of charge.

The Minecraft Expansion 10 DLC, also known as the Pillager Update, brings new adventures to your nearby villages, including the evil mob Pillagers who raid villages, giving you the chance to become the hero of the town. The update also includes more useful gadgets to craft, including a grindstone, cartography tables, and campfires.

Trophy hunters and Completionists should take note that the Minecraft Expansion 10 DLC also adds another six trophies to the game, now bringing the total to a whopping 111. The six new trophies are as follows:

Buy Low, Sell High (gold) – Trade for the best possible price.

Disenchanted (bronze) – Use a Grindstone to get experience from an enchanted item.

I’ve Got A Bad Feeling About This (bronze) – Kill a Pillager Captain.

Kill The Beast! (silver) – Defeat a Ravager.

Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2

Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2 is an episodic point-and-click adventure similar to other titles developed by Telltale Games, with a story based on the Minecraft game by Mojang, and is a sequel to the 2015 Minecraft: Story Mode. The game is divided into five Episodes, where players make choices which can influence the story and its ending.

Following the events of the previous game, Jesse and the New Order of the Stone have gone their separate ways. Yet during an exploration with friends, Jesse runs into the Admin - a being with god-like powers which threaten to overturn Beacontown and the rest of the world.

Each episode of Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2 received positive reviews and an overall higher average score than the previous installment, at 74%, praised for its engaging story, colorful characters, and humor, though criticized by some for technical issues.

Unlike the first game, Season 2 does not require any backtracking or mopping-up. Simply play through the story from start to finish, and you'll automatically have the Platinum trophy at the end of the game.

Expect less than 10 hours of gameplay for the Platinum.

If you've already played the previous installment, then you'll know that Minecraft Story Mode Season 2 doesn't require a roadmap. Simply play through the game, making whichever choices you wish, unlocking trophies naturally as you progress through each Chapter and Episode.

All trophies are story-related, and so there is no mopping-up or backtracking required. Once you've completed the final Chapter of Episode 5, you will automatically unlock the Platinum.

Minecraft: Story Mode

Minecraft: Story Mode is an episodic point-and-click adventure similar to other titles developed by Telltale Games, with a story based on the Minecraft game by Mojang. The game is divided into five Episodes, with an additional three available as downloadable content. Throughout the game, players make choices which can influence the story and its ending.

Jesse is a new player to the world of Minecraft who embarks on a journey to search for The Order of the Stone - five legendary players who had previously saved the Minecraft world, which is now under the threat of an evil Wither.

Each episode of Minecraft: Story Mode received positive reviews with an overall average score of 71%, praised for its colorful characters, humor, and story, though criticized for bugs and technical issues.

Like most Telltale Games, the Platinum for Minecraft: Story Mode simply requires progressing through the story until the end. The vast majority of trophies are story related, with only a few exceptions. However, since there is a Chapter Select available, mopping-up any missed trophies is a quick and easy procedure.

Expect roughly 15 hours to get through all five Episodes of the main game.

NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 have a separate list from those on the PS3.

If you've played any other Telltale Games, then you'll know that simply playing and enjoying the game from start to finish is a decent way to start. Nearly all the trophies are story-related, with but a few exceptions. However, with the Chapter Select available, going back and mopping-up those few trophies makes for a quick procedure.

Once you've completed all 5 Episodes (or 8, if you're going for the DLC) then it's time to nab those few trophies that are still waiting for you.

This may include the Leveraging Resources trophy for crafting a lever during Episode 1, Chapter 2, the That's Some Pig trophy for exhausting all conversation options with Reuben at the end of Episode 3, Chapter 3, and either the Griefer Madness or Occam's Razor trophy, depending on which decision you made a the end of Chapter 6, Episode 1.
