PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2020

Due to the first Tuesday of the month falling late into July, we didn’t hear about the next line-up of free games until today. The good news is, July 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of PlayStation Plus, first launching on the PlayStation 3. To celebrate, Sony is giving away three freebies this month, as well as a free theme, and will host a free online multiplayer weekend starting this Saturday. So, without further ado, here is the line-up for PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2020 available for download on Tuesday, July 7.

First, there’s Rise of the Tomb Raider, the third-person action adventure and sequel to the 2013 reboot Tomb Raider. Laura Croft traverses the freezing environment of Siberia as she searches for the legendary city of Kitezh.

Next, there’s NBA 2K20, the latest title in the popular basketball simulation series. Players can enjoy the return of the MyCareer mode and customize their own players, as well as the return of MyGM and MyLeague modes.

Finally, there’s Erica, a unique FMV (full motion video) game, in which players make choices that impact the results of the story. Follow the main character Erica as she takes you down a shadowy world full of danger, murder, and cultists in this interactive thriller.

All three games in the line-up of PlayStation Plus free games July 2020 have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Erica is the quickest and easiest of the three. If you chose to follow a walkthrough, the Platinum can be earned in around 10 hours.

The Platinum for Rise of the Tomb Raider is of average difficulty, and has no missable trophies since a free roam and chapter select is available. Completionists should take note however, that the game has a whopping 59 DLC trophies for online play.

NBA 2K20 can be challenging at times, particularly for anyone new to the basketball series. More importantly however, you will be looking at hundreds and hundreds of hours for the Platinum, as you spend an incredible amount of time collecting 2,900 cards for the Ultimate Collector trophy.

New features include a new training facility named the Hanger, improvements to the Dynamic DNA which was first introduced in NBA Live 09, as well as to such details of the players as their tattoos, shoes, uniform, signature shots, and moves. The game includes 31 licensed FIBA teams. Roster updates for the 2010-2011 NBA seasons were later added as free DLC.

NBA Live 10 received mainly positive reviews, with an average score of 77%, praised for its presentation and graphics, and being an overall improvement in the series, but criticized by some for its lack of game modes and redundant announcers.

NBA Live 10 was first released in October 2009, and includes 7 online trophies. Unfortunately, the online servers were closed on January 11, 2013, which means those online trophies can no longer be unlocked. Therefore, the Platinum trophy for NBA Live 10 is now Not Obtainable.

The online servers for NBA Live 10 were shut down on January 11, 2013, which means the 7 online trophies - and therefore, the Platinum trophy - is Not Obtainable. However, the game still contains 26 offline trophies that can be unlocked. So if you're still interested, then read on.

First, if you want to make things easier, you can adjust the options in Game Play to move the swing the game in your favor. This includes adjusting the sliders so that your tendencies are Up, and the AI is Down. Also, switch both the shot clock and penalties Off.

If you're new to the NBA series, you might want to start by simply playing a game and getting a feel for the controls. But if you're confident enough, you can start a game in Dynasty mode and work towards winning the championship, to unlock the Champion trophy. Setting the playoffs to 3 games will make things quicker. Games can be simulated if you have a strong team, but you may want to play the championship to avoid any risk of losing and having to start over.

After that, you can work on the player-specific related trophies, which require getting certain stats for particular NBA players. This includes scoring 81 points with Kobe Bryant for the Kobe's 81 trophy, scoring 50 points with leBron James for the King James Loves New Jersey trophy, scoring 55 points with Kobe Bryant for the 55 In NYC trophy, scoring 55 points with Tony Parker for the TP 11/05/08 trophy, getting 27 rebounds with Marcus Camby for the Camby 12/17/08 trophy, getting 10 blocks with Dwight Howard for the D12 11/12/08 trophy, getting 10 steals with Brandon Roy for the Broy 1/24/09 trophy, and scoring 55 points wth Dwayne Wade for the Flash 4/12/09 trophy.

By this point, you should also have unlocked several other trophies naturally along the way. Now, it's time to mop-up anything you still need. Most of the remaining trophies are quite easy. Just check out the requirements for whichever you still need in the NBA Live 10 trophy guides under our Links tab.

NBA Jam

NBA Jam is a basketball game based on the National Basketball Association, and part of the NBA Jam series which began in the arcade in 1993. Unlike the NBA 2K series, NBA Jam uses 3D models with 2D high-resolution photographs of the player's heads, as well as exaggerated slam dunking, high jumping, and basketballs catching on fire. The game is 2-on-2, but also includes some 1-on-1 in boss battles, as well as online play.

NBA Jam received positive reviews with an average score of 82%, praised for its visuals and overall fun.

If you're new to the series, you can begin things by heading into Jam Camp, where you'll learn the controls. This will also unlock the Big Head mode.

After that, you can start playing through the Classic Campaign. There are 29 NBA teams to play in total, 7 legend teams, and a final boss. This can be done on Easy mode, if you want to make things easier on yourself. This will require 6 playthorughs to unlock all the campaign-related trophies. Also, make sure to select a team from a different division each time, so as to work towards unlocking the NBA Domination trophy.

Once this is done, you will need to face the Beastie Boys following the credits, in a four-way 21 game. This is perhaps the most challenging trophy in the game, as this challenge is no cake-walk. If you're having trouble, check out some of the Jam Boss strategies under our Links tab.

Once you've beaten the Beastie Boys and unlocked the 3 The Hard Way trophy, then congratulations! Simply mop-up any remaining trophies.

The online servers for NBA 2K12 were closed in November 2012, which means 8 online trophies and therefore, the Platinum, are Not Obtainable. However, there are still 41 offline trophies that can be achieved, so if you're interested, then read on.

From the start, you can create your own My2K account, which will unlock the A 2K To Call My Own trophy.

When going for the non-simulated trophies, remember you can adjust the sliders to increase your players to 100 and the CPU stats to 0. It's best to check out the NBA 2K12 trophy guide links under our Links tab to see which settings are easiest for whichever trophy you're going for. Also, you should play at least one game and score 48 points with Kevin Durant with Oklahoma City Thunder for the G Performance trophy.

Once you've done those, you can play through the 15 memorable games. Win each one, and you will unlock Made My Name, Left My Mark, and the Wrote My Legend trophies. These can be done by playing only one minute quarters, which you can adjust under Gameplay in Quarter Length.

Next, there's The Association mode. Simply set the season to 58 games, with minutes set to 1, and each series to best of one. With these settings, you can unlock Streaking, Home Court, and Ticker Tape trophies quickly.

Then, there's the 11 My Player trophies. This is where the difficulty and time consumption comes in, as you'll need to play on Pro Difficulty without being able to customize the sliders. You will need to fulfill 10 of the 15 career goals, after which you can retire and earn the Immortality trophy. Also, you'll want to avoid simulating the games for the first few seasons in order to get the 10 million a year contract to unlock the I'm Worth It trophy.

Once you've completed the My Player trophies, then it's simply a matter of mopping-up any offline trophies you're still missing. Unfortunately, with the servers down, this is where we'll need to end things.
