Nex Machina

Nex Machina is a top-down twin-stick shoot ‘em up, by the same developers as Resogun and Super Stardust Ultra. Players traverse through rooms, shooting waves of enemies while saving humans along the way. Throughout the levels, players can find power-ups and weapon upgrades. The game takes place across six different worlds, features over 100 levels, and includes local cooperative multiplayer.

Nex Machina received positive reviews with an average score of 88%, praised for its graphics, soundtrack, and overall fun, though criticized by some for its upgrade system.

While many trophies are not too challenging, clearing the game on Veteran difficulty will be what stops many players from unlocking the Platinum. The game itself is not very long, but you can expect a lot of replaying and practice. If you are familiar with Housemarque’s other titles Resogun or Super Stardust Ultra, than you’ll have an idea of the difficulty level. Nex Machina is arguably the most challenging Platinum of the three.

Expect anywhere between 15-30 hours for the Platinum, heavily dependent on your skills.

Start things off by simply playing through the game, from start to finish. If you’re new to these type of shoot ‘em up games, you might want to start on Rookie mode, before advancing to the more difficult levels.

But if you have the skills and experience, we recommend playing through on Experience mode first. This will unlock both the Rookie and Experienced trophies upon completion, as well as give you a real feel for the difficulty level. Along the way, you will also unlock a few other trophies naturally.

Once that’s done, it’s time to go for the 1CC trophy, which requires playing through on Experienced mode without using any continues. You won’t need to defeat Nex, only play up until the Nex Machina. If you’re having trouble with this, check out some of the videos under our Links tab.

Due to its difficulty, we recommend saving your run on Veteran difficulty last. So after getting the 1CC trophy, it’s time to collect all those miscellaneous trophies. Be sure to check out the Nex Machina trophy guide links under our Links tab for more details on each specific trophy.

By this point, you’ll also want to complete 100 feats for the Fea(s)ts! Trophy. There are a total of 220 feats to choose from, so go after whichever ones you feel are easiest for.

Now, it’s come time for that run on Veteran difficulty. This is what blocks a lot of players from getting the Platinum, as completing the game on Veteran is no easy task. This is also why we recommend saving it for last, as by know you should hopefully be quite experienced with the game. If you’re having serious problems, be sure to check out the videos under our Links tab.

After completing your run on Veteran mode, you will have unlocked Master difficulty. If you’ve been following our roadmap, than completing one level on Master difficulty should be the last feat you need to do, in order to unlock that Platinum. But have faith – since you’ve already played the entire game on Veteran, than this shouldn’t be too hard in comparison.

Good luck!
