PlayStation Plus Free Games August 2023

Summer heat bringing you down? Maybe it’s time to stay indoors, switch on the air conditioner, and play some games. Sony can help with that, with their announcement of the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games August 2023 which will be available for download on Tuesday, August 1.

First, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s PGA Tour 2K23, the fifth installment in the PGA Tour 2K series. Grab your golf clubs and compete across numerous licensed courses to become the next FedExCup Champion. The game introduces Topgolf with both local and online competitive play with up to four players, and a Course Designer.

Next, also for both PS4 and PS5, there’s the 2021 action-adventure game Death’s Door by Acid Nerve. A sequel to the 2015 game Titan Souls, Death’s Door is a 3D isometric game where players arm themselves with a sword and bow, striking down enemies while also solving puzzles to complete dungeons.

Lastly, available only for the PS4 is Dreams, the 2020 game creation system developed by Media Molecule. Play through the game, create your own games and audio-visual experiences, publish them online, and have fun trying the experiences created by other players. The only limit is your imagination.

All three titles of the PlayStation Plus free games August 2023 have a platinum trophy to unlock.

Among these, PGA Tour 2K23 is perhaps the easiest game to platinum, particularly if you are already experienced with games in the series. You can set the difficulty down to easy, although this means you will need to grind longer for XP. Expect around 20-25 hours of gameplay for the platinum.

Death’s Door is generally a quicker game to platinum, taking around 15-25 hours. However, this is quite skill-dependent, and can get rather challenging with some of the boss battles.

Lastly, the platinum for Dreams is easy enough. However, you will need to grind your way to reach level 30. Expect around 40-50 hours to unlock the platinum.

PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2023

Too hot to go out? Prefer to stay indoors and play some games? Well, if you are a PlayStation Plus member, Sony has you covered. Here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games July 2023 available for download on Tuesday, July 4.

For both the PS5 and PS4, there’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the sixth installment in the Black Ops series, released in 2020. This first-person shooter takes place in the 1980s when the Cold War was still going on. Play as a recruited CIA officer and search out for a Soviet spy.

Also, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Alan Wake Remastered, an action-adventure which was originally released back in 2010, and has now been remastered complete with trophy support. Join Alan Wake, a bestselling novelist, who is searching for his wife after going missing during a vacation in the small fictional town of Bright Falls.

Lastly, also for both PS5 and PS4, there’s Endling: Extinction is Forever, a survival-adventure indie game developed by Herobeat Studios. In a 3D side-scrolling post-apocalyptic world, players take control of a mother fox who must protect and care for her young kits, who are the last of their species.

All three titles of the PlayStation Plus free games July 2023 have a platinum trophy to unlock.

Among these, Endling: Extinction is Forever is by far the easiest and quickest platinum to obtain. The challenge involved is below-average in terms of difficulty, particularly if you are following a guide. Despite completing two playthroughs which most guides recommend, the platinum can be obtained in roughly 10 hours.

Obtaining the platinum trophy for Alan Wake Remastered is a fairly average challenge. The game requires collectibles to find, and a playthrough on Nightmare mode. However, with a walkthrough, any average gamer could platinum the game in roughly 30-35 hours.

For those of you who have experience playing Call of Duty titles should have a good idea of what is involved in obtaining the platinum for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The campaign is not particularly long, but you will be spending most of your time online. If you have a good team and can get help with boosting, expect around 80-100 hours of gameplay.

PlayStation Plus Free Games June 2023

Sony has just announced their next batch of freebies for PlayStation Plus members, and it is quite a mix bag, from basketballs to dinosaurs. So, without further ado, here is the line-up of PlayStation Plus free games June 2023 which will be available for download on Tuesday, June 6.

First, for all those dino-fans, there is Jurassic World Evolution 2 for both the PS4 and PS5, the sequel to the 2018 Jurassic World Evolution. In this business simulation game, build your own Jurassic World from 75 prehistoric species, help them grow and keep them happy, and handle problems such as loose dinosaurs and sabotage from rivals.

Next, for those who prefer balls over dinosaurs, there is NBA 2K23, the latest in the NBA 2K series, available for both PS4 and PS5. The game reintroduces the Jordan Challenge, as well as the chance to warp back time to various 1980s and 1990s seasons in the MyNBA career.

Lastly, also for both PS4 and PS5, there’s Trek to Yomi a side-scrolling action title developed by Flying Wild Hog and released last year. Taking place during the Edo era of feudal Japan, players control Hiroki, a young swordsman on a quest for vengeance.

All three PlayStation Plus free games June 2023 titles have a platinum trophy to unlock.

Among them, the platinum for Trek to Yomi is perhaps the quickest to obtain, requiring around 15-20 hours of gameplay. The game itself is not too long, but will require 2.5 playthroughs, one of which on Ronin (hard) mode, which can be tough.

For those of you who have already platinumed the 2018 Jurassic World Evolution, then completing Jurassic World Evolution 2 should not be too much of a problem. However, it has been reported that the platinum for this sequel is a little more challenging and time consuming than the previous installment.

The difficulty in obtaining the platinum for NBA 2K23 entirely depends on your previous experience with this basketball series. However, it should be noted that the server’s closure has already been announced. After December 31st, 2024, the online trophies – and therefore the platinum – will become unobtainable.

Also, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Chivalry 2, the sequel to the 2012 Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, developed by Torn Banner Studios. Select either first or third person view, chose your medieval melee weapon, and enter the multiplayer battle in this hack-and-slash video game.

Lastly, also for both PS4 and PS5, there’s Descenders, the 2019 cycling game developed by RageSquid. Racers participate in downhill mountain biking in a range of different environments that are procedurally generated, while completing objectives such as performing tricks or finishing under a certain time.

All three PlayStation Plus free games May 2023 have a platinum trophy to unlock.

The platinum for Grid Legends is perhaps the easiest to obtain, as there are no online trophies to worry about, and the races can be played on easy. However, be warned that you will need around 60-70 hours of gameplay.

The platinum trophy for Chivalry 2 is of average difficulty. If boosting the online trophies, the platinum can be obtained in around 45 hours, though expect around 70-80 hours of unlocking trophies legitimately.

Lastly, Descenders has some tricky trophies which require excellent skills and near-perfect runs. While the platinum can technically be obtained in around 30 hours, expect far more depending on your skills and patience.

PlayStation Plus Free Games April 2023

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! And to celebrate this Irish holiday, Sony is releasing a new set of freebies for PlayStation Plus members which have nothing to do with Ireland or St. Patrick. But hey, free games are free games, right? And so, here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games April 2023 available for download on Tuesday, April 4.

Among these, Tails of Iron is arguably the easiest platinum of the three, and only requires around 10-15 hours of gameplay.

The platinum for Meet Your Maker is of average difficulty, though will take around 50-60 hours of gameplay, due to fair amount of required grinding.

Obtaining the platinum for Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a little above average difficulty due to some tricky trophies, though requires only around 25-30 hours of gameplay, depending on your skills.
