Until Dawn

Until Dawn is an interactive drama horror, in which actions and choices made can alter the course of the story. Players explore, while discover clues, make decisions, and participate in quick-time events. The game is meant to be played more than once in order to witness all the content available, and so possesses a strict auto-save feature.

Taking place in Western Canada, eight teenagers decide to spend the night in a cabin on the fictional Blackwood Mountain for a vacation - the same place where two girls had disappeared a year earlier. The teenagers soon discover a psychopath is out to get them, and they must survive until dawn.

Until Dawn received positive reviews with an average score of 79%, praised for its engaging story, creepy atmosphere and environments, voice acting, and horror elements.

Since Until Dawn is an interactive drama, there isn't really any skill involved. One full playthrough is required with finding collectibles, plus some episode replays to get all the endings. With a guide, this is very easy to do.

Expect roughly 15 hours of gameplay if following a guide.

If you wish to simply play the story and enjoy it without spoilers, doing so will take roughly 8 or 9 hours.

However, if you are in a rush for that Platinum, then you'll first want to play through the game with all the characters alive for the They All Live trophy, as well as find all 107 possible collectibles. Check out one of the collectible guides in our Links page for further details. Do note, however, in order to get all the collectibles, you must not shoot the squirrel in Episode 1, successfully run and hide from the psycho in Episode 5, and hide from the Stranger with Emily in Episode 7.

Also, during this playthrough, it's safe to unlock the Scream Too, the Skillful Wolf Man, The Psycho Path, and the Let Em In trophies while still ending with all characters alive.

Next, head back to Episode 6, and play through the path where all the characters are killed, for the This Is The End trophy. During this step, it is also safe to unlock the Fatal Grudge and Ashley Snaps trophies in Episodes 6 and 8, The Exorcism Of Emily trophy in Episode 8, and the You Let The Wrong One In in Episode 9.

Finally, replay Episode 10 for the Instant Inferno trophy. If you've been following this roadmap, then this should be your last trophy and unlock the Platinum.

Enjoy!

PlayStation Plus Free Games: July 2017

Sony has just released their next set of free-to-play titles for PlayStation Plus members, available now for download.

On the PlayStation 4, there’s Game of Thrones, the episodic graphic adventure by Telltale Games, based on both George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series and its TV adaptation Game of Thrones, which tells the story of the Forrester family in the North. And Until Dawn, an interactive horror drama, developed by Supermassive Games, about a group of teenagers seeking survival through the night in the mountains against a psychopath.

For the PlayStation 3, there’s Tokyo Jungle, a post-apocalyptic survival in which players take on the role of an animal in an abandoned Tokyo. And Darkstalkers Resurrection, a 2D fighting game by Iron Galaxy Studios and published by Capcom, complete with online multiplayer and replay sharing.

And on the PlayStation Vita, there’s Don’t Die, Mr. Robot!, the indie game by Infinite State Games where players control a happy square-face and dodge everything that’s thrown at you. And Element41, an experimental platformer in which players control four elements with the sun and nature as the enemy. Don’t Die, Mr. Robot! is also a cross-plat with the PS4, while Element41 is a cross-plat with the PS3.

Among the six titles, only Game of Thrones and Until Dawn have Platinum trophies to unlock. Both of them are quite easy – particularly Game of Thrones, which doesn’t even require a guide – and can be completed in roughly 12 hours. Also, Tokyo Jungle is quite doable for achieving 100%, and needs about 20 hours of gameplay.
