Zombie Vikings is a side-scrolling brawler, similar in style to the classic Double Dragon series, and created by the developers behind Stick It to The Man! The game includes both offline and online co-op play with up to four players, battling through over 25 levels in eight different environments. Players select among four different zombie-characters, each with unique power moves, and unlocks up to 40 different weapons.
After Odin's good eye has been snatched away, he sends out four vikings that have been raised from the Norse ground in the form of zombies. They must traverse across strange lands and battle enemies to retrieve Odin's stolen eye.
Zombie Vikings received generally positive reviews with an average score of 65%, praised for its humor, graphics, and presentation, though criticized by some for lacking when playing solo.
This is a high 2-star rating, as some of the trophies can be a bit tricky. Also, it should be noted that the game was meant to be played with multiple players in co-op, either locally or online. If you can find three other players, then most of the trophies shouldn't be too much of a problem. Even two players, with two extra controllers, is doable. However, attempting some of the co-op trophies solo with three extra controllers can be quite challenging.
Expect around 25 hours or more for the Platinum, depending on both skills and how many players you have for the co-op related trophies.
The game includes a level select, so nothing is missable. There are, however, some trophies which are easier to get solo, and some which require at least one other player. We recommend going for these, depending on whether your first playthrough is solo or co-op.
The Treasure Hunter trophy, for example, requires you to open 25 chests. This must be done by one player, as chests opened by a co-op partner will not count to your total. Also, rewards for completing sidequests are divided between players, which means having to replay levels again if your co-op partners get the rewards. As a result, these are batter done during a solo playthrough.
If you decide to play co-op, then this is an opportunity to unlock the co-op specific trophies. These are doable with only two players, provided you have extra controllers.
Once you've finished your playthrough, use the level select to mop-up what you're missing. This will probably include farming for gold for the Big Spender trophy, as well as unlocking all the weapons for the Master At Arms trophy, and unlocking all the runes for the Runemaster trophy.
