New Year’s is upon us. And to help ring in the new year, Sony is handing out three freebies for PlayStation Plus Members. And so, here is the PlayStation Plus Free Games January 2026 line-up, which will be available for download on Tuesday, January 6.
First, for the PS5, there’s Need For Speed Unbound, the 2022 racing game and 25th installment in the Need for Speed series. Developed by Criterion Games, players compete in street races in an open-world environment in the fictional Lakeshore City, based on Chicago. Unlike other games in the NFS series, Need for Speed Unbound features a unique art style that combines graffiti art and cell-shading.
Next, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, a remake of the 2010 platformer Epic Mickey. Players control Mickey Mouse who is armed with a magic paintbrush which can draw or erase obstacles in order to pass levels and stop enemies.
Finally, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s the 2020 Core Keeper, developed by Pugstorm and published by Fireshine Games. In this top-down survival sandbox game, players must craft, mine, farm, and perform combat in a procedurally generated underground world.
All three titles in the PlayStation Plus Free Games January 2026 line-up have platinum trophies to unlock.
Among them, obtaining the platinum for Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is by far the easiest. The game itself is not too difficult, and only requires around 10-12 hours of gameplay.
The second easiest platinum in this line-up would be for Core Keeper. The game itself is below average in terms of difficulty. However, there is a lot of grinding involved, so be prepared to spend around 70-80 hours of gameplay for this platinum.
Lastly, unlocking the platinum for Need for Speed Unbounded is of average difficulty, though this depends on your racing skills and experience with the NFS series. There are some online trophies however, the most challenging being to play three races in a full lobby of eight players, which might require some boosting.
