EyePet

EyePet is a "game" which uses augmented reality through the PlayStation Eye and Move to allow the player to look after and play with a monkey-like gremlin creature. Players can interact with the pet, such as rubbing its tummy, tossing a ball and watch it jump out of the way, teach it songs by singing into the Eye's microphone, teach it drawings by holding up a picture to the camera, as well as use virtual objects such as a trampoline and bubble machine. The pet can also be customized by changing its color of fur or dressing it in costumes.

The game received very mixed reviews, with an average score of 74%, praised for its originality and ability to demonstrate what the Eye Toy and Move is capable of, and while some online magazines stated EyePet ran smoothly, others claimed it possessed awkward game mechanics.

EyePet was first released in October 2009, and originally received a 1-star difficulty for its easy and quick Platinum. The game included one online trophy, Shopaholic, for downloading a free item from the EyePet Store. Unfortunately, the online servers were shut down March 29, 2018. This means the Shopaholic trophy can no longer be unlocked. Therefore, the Platinum for EyePet has become Not Obtainable.

Since the online servers were closed on March 29, 2018, a single online trophy - and therefore, the Platinum - has become Not Obtainable. However, there are still 33 offline trophies that can be unlocked. So if you're interested, then read on:

Each time you start the game, you will need to feed and wash your pet, then perform a Pet Report. You'll need to do this twenty times (20 days), during which, you can aim for the Speed Wash trophy, which requires you to wash your pet in under 60 seconds.

Afterwards, there are the fifteen set of challenges, one for each day. First work towards completing them for each day's trophy, then when all 15 are finished, you can go back and attempt to get a gold on each one.

Aside from the Pet Reports and Challenges, there are a number of miscellaneous trophies which you can earn at any time. Check out the trophy guides in our Links page for further details.

Also, keep in mind that you needn't actually wait for the next day to perform any Pet Reports or Challenges. Simply go into the Settings of your PlayStation 3, and change the date. This is especially useful for the Best Friends trophy, in which you need to stroke your pet for 30 seconds for 5 days in a row.
