Brutal Legend

Brutal Legend is a third-person, real-time strategy, action-adventure game which finally saw the light of day in 2009 after being the center of several lawsuits between publishing companies. Players take control of Eddie Riggs - voiced by Jack Black - a roadie who gets warped to a fantasy world resembling typical heavy metal album covers. Armed with a battle axe and a Flying V guitar, Eddie must save the world against supernatural overlords. The game also includes over a hundred heavy metal tracks from 75 different bands, and an online mode.

The game was relatively well received, with an average score of 83%. It was praised for the voice acting and musical scores, fun story, and considered a treat to any fan of both heavy metal music and video games.

Some of the offline trophies can be a bit tricky, but are doable. What's nice, is that none of them are missable. Once you complete the game, you're free to roam about and find all the collectibles. What brings this score up to a 3-star rating is the online, particularly the Conquerer trophy which requires 50 ranked matches won.

The amount of time required to get the Conquerer trophy, of course, will depend on your skill.

Expect roughly 20-30 hours for the Platinum, depending on your skills, as well as whether or not the online trophies are boosted.

It's possible to collect all the offline trophies in one go - simply select Brutal mode. Otherwise, chose an easier mode, collect everything except for the "difficulty mode" trophies, then go after Brutal later. The choice is up to you, depending on your confidence and busy gaming schedule. Given that you can return to the game after you've beaten the story, you needn't worry about missing any trophies. In fact, just play through the game and have fun, without worrying about collecting anything. Once you're done, then you can start working on the individual challenges and the Metal God trophy, which requires 100% completion. For further details on those, check out the Brutal Legend trophy guides links under our Links tab.

Afterwards, you just have the online trophies to worry about. Since the game has been around for several years now, you may find a lack of players to fill those ranked matches. If this is the case, check out the boosting forums under our Links tab to find players interested. You may get lucky, and have all your "boosting buddies" in a ranked match!
