Bakugan Battle Brawlers

Bakugan Battle Brawlers is based on the Japanese anime of the same name, in which the characters - known as the Battle Brawlers - use creatures from another dimension - the Bakugan - to battle. After creating a character, the player is introduced and trained by the main characters, preparing to become a Battle Brawler and defeat Marduk, who is attempting to rule over all the Bakugan.

This is a strategy game in which players launch Bakugan - which resemble balls - onto a field occupied by strategically placed Gate Cards, causing the balls to crack open and reveal creatures. Players with the highest value of attack points for their creature win the Gate Card. Score three Gate Cards, and you win the match.

The game, released in 2009, was not overtly popular. Those few magazines which did give a review ranked an average score of 61%, mainly criticized for its repetitiveness and strong target to its audience - leaving little appeal to those not following the anime program.

The game is quite tough - until you get the hang of it, then things can get much easier. So why a 3-star rating? There's a LOT of grinding involved, which could take you over 30 hours of boring play until the platinum is yours. Our difficulty rating is based more on time consumption than skill.

At the beginning, you'll want to pick your attributes and start making your way through the story. When choosing attributes, we recommend NOT selecting HAOS, otherwise you'll have a difficult time when facing the final boss.

Before starting the Brave Battlers Tournament, it's a good idea to visit the park and grind your way towards the Grand Battle Brawler, Reliable Battle Brawler, and the Mighty Battle Brawler trophies. These aren't missable, but once you start the Tournament, the difficulty will increase, making those three trophies that much harder to obtain.

Afterwards, you'll need to mop up missing trophies by grinding your way to collect enough Bakugan points to get each Bakugan and card in the game. This is where the game gets rather time consuming. After that, you'll need to play each character in the Battle Arena mode.

Good luck, and happy grinding!

Due to the unpopularity of the game, there are very few guides and walkthroughs available. However, we did manage to find a few - hopefully enough to land you the Platinum.
