Lollipop Chainsaw

Lollipop Chainsaw is a third-person, action slasher. You play as Juliet, a perky blond who isn't your average High School cheerleader - but also a zombie killer.

Just as she's on her way to meet her boyfriend's parents for the first time, zombies come out of nowhere and attack. To save her boyfriend, she decapitates him and carries his head around, hoping to save him while defending herself and others from the zombies.

The game received generally positive reviews, both in Japan and overseas, with an average score of 78%. Praised for its visuals and comic relief, but criticized for poor controls and overall bland gameplay.

For more information, check out our Lollipop Chainsaw Review.

The game will require a couple playthroughs, as you'll not only have to play on Hard, but Ranked Mode as well, and beat certain scores along the way. There is one online trophy, but it simply requires you to upload your gameplay - so as long as you have internet connection, you're fine.

Overall, this game shouldn't take more than 30 hours to complete.

We recommend not bothering with Easy. Instead, start on Normal and for the most part, just get from beginning to end. You'll earn some story-based trophies along the way, and a few other challenge-related ones. Check out the Lollipop Chainsaw trophy guide links under our Links tab for further details.

Once that's done, you can go back and mop up any other trophies you've missed. Since you'll be grinding for the International Zombie Hunter trophy later, it makes things faster if you do your mopping up on Ranked mode.

Once you have International Zombie Hunter, you'll need to play the stages again, this time trying to beat Dad's score for each, in order to claim the Master Zombie Hunter trophy.

Shadows of the Damned

Shadows of the Damned is a third-person action title created through the collaboration between Shinji Mikami and Goichi Suda. Players control Garcia who battles demons, along with his sidekick Johnson, who acts as his weapon, torch, and motorcycle, while solving "darkness" puzzles and upgrading weapons.

Garcia Hotspur, a demon-hunter, returns home to find his girlfriend Paula being abducted by the Lord of Demons, named Fleming. Along with his sidekick Johnson, Garcia ventures into the demon world in pursuit of Fleming and to rescue Paula.

Shadows of the Damned received mainly positive reviews, with an average score of 78%, praised for its music, sound, challenging bosses, and overall fun, but criticized by some for its clunky design.

The game has three difficulty modes - easy, medium, and hard - with a trophy for completing each, which are not stackable. This means a minimum of three playthroughs are required. While the majority of the trophies are story-related, there are a number of kill-related trophies to unlock, and one for collecting all the red gems throughout the game. While these may be missable, having to play through the game three times means three chances to collect them all.

Overall, the game is no walk in the park, but not too difficult for an average player, either. Expect roughly 20-25 hours, depending on your skills.

Since completing the game's difficulty mode trophies are not stackable, you may as well begin on Lemon Hunter (Easy). Aside from unlocking the various story-related trophies along the way, this is also a good opportunity to follow one of the Red Gem guides under our Links tab, in order to unlock the High In Las Vegas trophy, as well as some of the kill-related trophies.

Once you've finished your first playthrough on Lemon Hunter, it's time to start Demon Hunter (Medium). The game has no New Game+, which means you'll be starting from scratch again. Also, if there were any trophies you missed during your first playthrough, then now would be the time to snatch them up.

Last, you can load up a new game on Legion Hunter (Hard). Hopefully by now the Legion Hunter trophy should be the only one you still need at this point. If not, try to mop-up any others during your third playthrough, in order to avoid having to do a fourth.
