El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is a third-person action game which features platform elements. Development was lead by Takeyasu Sawaki, the character designer behind Devil May Cry and Okami. The game's aesthetic is in anime-style, inspired by such sources as Studio Ghibli.

Inspired by the Book of Enoch, players control Enoch, a scribe searching for the seven fallen angels to stop a great flood from destroying the world. Lucifel, a guardian angel responsible for protecting the world, though exists outside of time, assists Enoch in his quest.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron received positive reviews, with an average score of 81%, praised for its deep yet easy to understand combat system, and fantastic visuals.

This is one of those games where the majority of the trophies are easy to collect. However, the Conqueror trophy, which requires you to earn a G rank in every chapter on Hard difficulty, is so challenging that it pushes the rating of this platinum to a 4-star.

While the Platinum could take anywhere between 30-60 hours, completion time is heavily determined by your skills. There is 1 online trophy, Battle For Honor, though it merely requires you to register your score rank.

Your first step is to simply play through the game from beginning to end, on Normal difficulty, which will unlock Hard and Extra. Along the way, you can look for the Bones of Ishtar found in the Underworld levels, attempt to get the Time In The Spotlight trophy in Chapter 7, try to complete Chapter 8 without dying, and steal every weapon in Chapter 10 for the I'll Take The Best You Have trophy. However, there is a Chapter Select available after completion, so if you simply wish to sit back and enjoy the game without worry, it's not a problem.

Once that's finished, select Extra difficulty and simply try to get through the game.

Unfortunately, the real challenge is still yet to come. After you've used the Chapter Select to mop-up any missing trophies, you'll still need to acquire the Conqueror trophy, which requires getting a G rank in each chapter. You'll need to do this on Hard mode for the trophy. Just be persistent and learn from your mistakes.

Good luck!
