IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey

IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey is a combat flight simulator from the Allies point of view during World War II. It is based on both aerial combat and ground military operations on a grand scale, in which players can join in some of the famous WWII battles, such as The Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, and the Battle of the Bulge.

The game includes a new damage-effect engine, which allows players to witness real-time damage to the aircraft, as well as an environmental engine that creates realistic landscapes. An online multiplayer mode is included, in which players can select either the Allies or Axis.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey received positive reviews, with an average score of 82%, praised for its attention to detail, great graphics, and overall game mechanics.

It's rare we rate a game with the full 5-stars for difficulty, but the offline trophies are extremely time consuming and challenging, while the 14 online trophies are virtually impossible without boosting.

With a boosting partner, this rating can be brought down to a 4-star. But even with boosting, the online trophies will take hundreds of hours. And the offline trophies will only double that time.

This is definitely a Platinum to be proud of, but hard to get.

You'll first be playing the Primary Training, in which you can knock out three trophies from the start: First Step, Born To Be Ace, and Fresh Forces.

After that, you can start working through the campaign. Simulator is the more difficult mode, and it will need to be played if you're gunning for the platinum. Unless you feel really uncomfortable with the controls, we recommend jumping into Simulator, as the difficulty-related trophies are stackable, and the campaign is fairly long. During the campaign, you'll be unlocking the chapter-related trophies, as well as a few other miscellaneous ones.

After that, you can start on the single missions in order to flesh out the encyclopedia, which will unlock the Well-Read Pilot trophy, as well as a few others related to completing the single missions.

At this point, you can either mop-up the few offline trophies you're still missing, or go head and start on the more difficult portion of the game: online.

As we mentioned before, these trophies are extremely difficult to earn without boosting. Even if you wish to try doing them legitimately, you will need to make at least 2 friends, who you'll need to invite into your team and win a match, for the Comrad-In-Arms trophy. You will need to win online matches in each mode, and in each location, as well as 30-50 matches for some of these modes.

Good luck!
