Lost Planet 2
Lost Planet 2 is a third-person action shooter, and a sequel to the 2007 Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. Players battle against creatures on an alien terrain, with the ability to pilot mechanized armor suits. The game includes both online co-op and versus modes.
Ten years following the events of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, the snow has melted on EDN III revealing deserts and jungles. The story shifts between a group of mercenaries, NEVEC's Black Ops, and Waysider snow pirates, who soon learn both the dangerous and ecological instability of EDN III.
Lost Planet 2 received mixed reviews, with an average score of 69%, praised for its multiplayer feature and graphics, but criticized for a number of design flaws.
Yes, a 5-star difficulty rating, as the platinum for this game is quite ridiculous. The one of the most challenging trophies will be the Good Job Soldier, and A Collector's Collector, which require completing a vast number of specific feats, one of which includes getting a #1 world record score from a list of training missions, which of course is getting more difficult over time as players continue to raise the bar.
On top of all this, there are 6 online trophies which require hours of grinding. Plus, you'll need 4 playthroughs of the campaign, each for the four difficulty modes.
Expect around 300 hours or more on this puppy.
We recommend starting with the campaign which will not only give you a feel for the game, but assist in building your list of weapons and abilities that will help you later online. If you're starting your campaign on either Easy or Normal, we recommend hosting a game with three private slots, other cannot join. This will earn you the Me Against The World trophy. For the harder difficulty modes, you'll want to reset your game to allow players to join you. Not only will this make the game easier, but will help work towards the Two Is Better Than One trophy.
You'll need to play the campaign at least four times, one for each of the four difficulty modes: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme. During your playthroughs, you'll want to keep an eye on the list of Good Job awards and what you need to unlock them. For a full list, check out our Links tab.
After you've completed your four campaigns, hop into multiplayer and start working on those online trophies. Playing team matches is an easier way to collect wins, of which you'll need 100 for the Centurion trophy. Again, like in your campaign, check out and work towards the requirements for the Noms de Guerre feats.
Finally, you'll embark on the most tiresome aspect of the game, which is grinding for the remaining Good Job and Noms de Guerre awards. Visit the guides and lists under our Links tab for further assistance.
