Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is an action-adventure stealth game, first released on the PlayStation Portable in 2010, then re-released for the PlayStation 3 with trophy support as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection in 2011.

Set in Costa Rica in November 1974, ten years after Snake Eater, Snake has left The Patriots group and is now leading his own band of mercenaries called the Militaires Sans Frontieres, attempting to stop a secret organization from putting into use their latest weapon, called the Peace Sentinels. The game features two main modes, Mission which are story-based and include side-missions, and Mother Base in which players manage and simulate the missions. A multiplayer function is also included.

The 2010 PSP version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker received high praise, with an average score of 91% for its fascinating complexity despite being designed for a portable game console.

While a few trophies can get frustrating, the main reason for this 3-star rating is in the time required for the platinum. After completing one thorough playthrough, you will need to grind several missions over and over to collect staff and gear, as well as gain S-ratings. In addition to all this, there are a few online trophies to worry about as well.

Overall, expect to put in around 80-100 hours of gaming for this Platinum.

There's a lot to do here, so the first thing is to go through the Main Ops which focuses on the story-baed aspect of the game. Unfortunately, this is the easiest part of working towards that Platinum.

Once you've finished, you will need to go through the Extra Ops. Here, you'll want to collect staff members to help you through the Outer Ops missions, as well as unlock advanced gear which you'll need to acquire S-Ranks in missions. Overall, there are 32 Main Ops and 128 Extra Ops to grind through.

Once that hard part is done, there are three remaining online trophies to acquire: Trader, Versus Ops All Rules, and Vic Vos. Luckily, after having finished all the Ops grinding, these three online trophies should feel quite easy in comparison.
