Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is a crossover fighting game between characters from the Mortal Kombat game series, and the DC Comics fictional universe. The Story Mode consists of two different perspectives, between the Mortal Kombat and DC Universe, divided into a series of chapters. Battles include a Falling Kombat mini-game in which players fight in the air while tumbling towards lower levels, a Klose Kombat where the camera switches to a close-up shot of the characters, and a Test Your Might mini-game when smashing opponents through walls. The game features both local and online matches, to which the online servers were closed in July 2014. The game includes a total of 22 playable characters, 11 from each of the two franchises.

As Raiden repels an invasion by Shao Kahn, Superman is simultaneously fighting against Darkseid's Apokoliptian invasion. The two events cause a merging of the two villains into the creation of Dark Kahn, who manages to merge the Mortal Kombat and DC Universe worlds. Unless the heroes from each world can stop this merging, both worlds will be destroyed.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe received mostly positive reviews with an average score of 77%, praised mainly for its overall fun and execution, though criticized by some for the lack of gore often familiar with the Mortal Kombat series, and the newly added modes of Klose Kombat and Falling Kombat for slowing down the gameplay.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was released in November 2008, and includes 3 online trophies. Unfortunately, after the closure of online provider GameSpy following the Ziff Davis acquisition of IGN Entertainment, the online servers to the game were closed on July 16, 2014. As a result, the 3 online trophies cannot be unlocked. Therefore, the Platinum for this game has become Not Obtainable.

Following the closure of GameSpy after the Ziff Davis acquisition of IGN Entertainment, the online servers to Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe were closed on July 16, 2014. As a result, the three online trophies - Less Talk More Fight, Humiliation, and Relentless, cannot be unlocked. Therefore, the platinum for this game is Not Obtainable. However, there are still 39 offline trophies that can be earned, so if you're still interested, then read on.

You can begin by playing the Story Mode. You'll need to complete it twice, once through the Mortal Kombat path for the Worlds Remade trophy, and again on the DC Universe path to unlock the Universe Reborn trophy. In the process, you will also obtain The Ultimate Evil for completing both paths, as well as naturally unlock The Pugilist and Free Falling trophies. If things get tough, you can adjust to an easier mode.

Next, you'll need to play Arcade mode with all 22 characters, performing each of their Fatalities for Heroic Brutalities along the way in order to unlock The Finisher trophy. You'll also need to play a round on Very Hard without continuing for the Arcade Master trophy.

Once that's done, you can start working on the trophies related to the combo challenges, as well as the Super moves and Promoves. There is a trophy for each character, as well as the gold Supreme Champion trophy for completing all the Kombo challenges, and the gold Super Moves Master trophy for performing all the Super moves and Promoves, for a grand total of 24 trophies to unlock. Check out the trophy guides in our Links page for further details, and videos to see how they are performed.

Finally, mop-up any last remaining offline trophies you may still need.

Unfortunately, with the online servers shutdown, this is as far as we can go.

The online servers for Blitz: The League II were closed on July 16, 2014, which means the six online trophies - and therefore the platinum trophy - have since become Not Obtainable. However, the game still includes 43 offline trophies, so if you're still interested, then read on.

If you first want to get a feel for the game, we recommend starting with the Training Mode. This will also help net you the He's Ready trophy.

There is no trophy for the difficulty mode, so under Gameplay and Options, you can select Easy mode when playing against the computer.

At least for your first playthrough, it's recommended you use Franchise (your player character) as a "wide receiver." This will make it easier to collect a number of trophies, such as Hall Of Fame in which you must be declared the MVP in all three division seasons, and Go Long! in which you have to gain 450 passing yards, among several other trophies. Check out the BLITZ The League II trophy guide links under our Links tab for further details.

During the game, you can pause and scroll down to the "trophies" section, where you can see a percentage of how close you are to hearing those blings. Keep in mind that some trophies will unlock immediately after completing the challenge, while others require you to finish the game.

With the online servers closed, this is unfortunately as far as we can go.
