Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption is a third-person western action game, set in an open world, and a loose sequel to Red Dead Revolver, the 2004 title released for the PS2 and Xbox. Set during the American Frontier in 1911, players can engage in gunfights, explore the vast open world, interact with the environment, and tame and ride horses, and even hijack trains. The game also features online multiplayer with up to 16 players.

The story takes place in 1911 during the end of the American Frontier, where the Wild West is gradually being taken over by such modern technology as automobiles and oil drilling projects. In the fictitious locations of New Austin, West Elizabeth, and Neuvo Paraiso, John Marston is a former outlaw who's been forced by the government to bring members of his old gang to justice after his wife and son are taken hostage.

Red Dead Redemption was both a commercial and critical success, with an average score of 94%, and received numerous Game of the Year awards from such media outlets as GameSpy, GameSpot, and Machinima, praised for its detailed environment, great music and voice acting, and rich gameplay.

While the offline trophies are comparably easier than Grand Theft Auto IV, it's the online trophies which pushed this score to a 4-star difficulty, and requires some serious multiplayer skills. However, if you have a boosting partner, than this difficulty rating can be brought down to a 3-star.

Without a boosting partner, both the offline and online trophies combined will take you well over a hundred hours of gameplay.

Luckily, once you finish the campaign, you'll be able to free roam and collect all the remaining offline trophies. However, you should aim for Spurred To Victory while working through the campaign, which is a hidden trophy that involves completing 20 story missions without switching to a different horse. There are 57 missions in total, but if you happen to complete 38 of them and have been switching horses, then this trophy becomes missable and you'll need to restart. Otherwise, simply enjoy the game to the end.

Once the campaign's finished, you'll want to focus on the Redeemed trophy, which requires a 100% completion stat, much like the Key To The City trophy in Grand Theft Auto IV, though not as time consuming and no pigeons to shoot. Still, there's a lot involved, so check out the Red Dead Redemption trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you need to do. Also, you can sign up on Rockstar's Social Club and link your PSN account, which will from then on track your progress to make sure you haven't left anything out.

After that, it's simply a matter of mopping-up any offline trophies you've missed. Then, it's time to check out the multiplayer. There are 9 online trophies in total, and while a few are either simple or take time racking up XP, there are others that can be extremely difficult on your own. If you're looking for a boosting partner, check out the forums under our Links tab.
