Saw II: Flesh & Blood

Saw II: Flesh & Blood is a third-person survival horror, and a sequel to the 2009 Saw, which in turn is based on the 2004 film. The events in the game take place between the first and second film, and follow the story of Michael, the son of the protagonist from the first game, David Tapp.

Michael Tapp is investigating his father's death and apparent suicide, when he is suddenly kidnapped by Pighead. Forced to play Jigsaw's games, Michael realizes this may be the only way to learn the truth about his father's death.

Saw II: Flesh & Blood received mixed reviews, with an average score of 49%, a lower score than its prequel. Many critics decided the game was further unpolished than its prequel, and complained about the changes to the combat and quick-time events.

If you've played the first Saw title, then you should have a good idea of the level of difficulty in getting the Platinum in the sequel. The game itself is not particularly long, and requires finding all the collectibles during your playthrough, discovering each of the two different endings, then using the Flashbacks to complete the puzzles on Insane mode.

While there may be a few moments and puzzles that can be a bit frustrating, most players shouldn't have very much trouble with this one, and can probably unlock the Platinum within 10-12 hours.

First, there are a few easy trophies to unlock from the beginning. Under Date & Time in settings of the XMB, change the date to December 25. After loading up the game, you should immediately unlock the You Wasted Your Life trophy for playing on Christmas. Then, exit out and change the date to October 31, in order to unlock the It Must Be SAW trophy for playing on Halloween. After that, select the Credits from the Main Menu, and watch them through to the end, to unlock the Brought To You By... trophy. Finally, from the title screen where you need to hit Start, enter the legendary Konami Code: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, circle, X, Start, to unlock the Old School trophy.

Okay, with those four trophies out of the way, you can finally start playing the game. At the beginning, you'll be playing as Campbell, and will eventually need to make a choice to either let him live by reaching the elevator, or let him die by falling off the beams. If you wish to avoid two playthroughs, then we recommend letting Campbell live.

From this point on, get through the game while finding all the collectibles and performing all the puzzles. Check out the Collectibles Guides under our Links tab to help you with this. Once this step is completed, you should have the majority of the trophies, which includes the story-related ones, as well as the Path Of Blood trophy for letting Campbell live in the beginning.

Now, it's time to get that second ending without needing a second playthrough. After having completed the game, use the Flashback mode to load up Chapter 1, and this time let Campbell die by falling off the beam. Watch the cutscene and allow Chapter 2 to play for a bit until you're confident that the game's been saved. Exit out, and use the Flashback mode to load up the final chapter. At the end, you should see the alternate ending, and unlock the Path Of Flesh trophy for letting Campbell die.

Lastly, there should be the various puzzle-related trophies. First, use the Flashback mode to load up any puzzles you still might need to complete on Normal difficulty. Once those are finished, you can reload the puzzles on Insane mode to unlock their corresponding trophies.

And that's it! Enjoy your new Platinum.

Saw

Based on the film series of the same name, and with a story written by the original creators - James Wan and Leigh Whannell - Saw is a third-person survival horror game with its own separate storyline.

You play as detective David Tapp, whom the Jigsaw Killer has imprisoned inside an abandoned insane asylum. You must search through the asylum, deal with several tests and puzzles, encounter other people playing their own "game," and find clues which uncover the origin of Jigsaw in hopes of his capture.

The game received mixed reviews across gaming magazines, with an average score of 62%. Saw was praised for its storyline and alternate endings, though criticized for controls and combat system.

The game itself is not particularly long, and only requires one real playthrough. Afterwards, you can use the Chapter Select to mop up anything you've missed. There is no trophy for playing on difficulty, so Normal mode will make it even easier.

Overall, the Platinum can be obtained in less than 10 hours.

Since there are no trophies connected to the difficulty level, select Normal mode and begin the game. Use the guides in our Links section to collect as many trophies as possible during your first playthrough, particularly the kill trophies. Once the game is completed, return to checkpoints 7-13 and select the other door to uncover the alternate ending - and alternate trophy.

Afterwards, simply use the Chapter Select to mop up any missed trophies.
