Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust
Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust is a third-person platformer and the 8th game in the Leisure Suit Larry series, the adult-themed video games first released on the PC in 1987. Players explore, race, and solve puzzles while leaping and climbing on platforms in an open-world setting.
Players control Larry Lovage, the nephew of Larry Laffer, who is called by his uncle to help at his movie studio, Laffer Studios. While performing a variety of jobs, Larry Lovage must find and stop a mole sent by a competing studio to sabotage Larry Laffer's plans.
Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust received extremely negative reviews, with an average score of only 19%, for its terrible game mechanics, repetitive and boring gameplay, and even nominated by some magazines as worst game of the year.
No online trophies to worry about. And if you happen to clear the story in under 8 hours, plus nab the three missable trophies along the way, you can get the platinum after one playthrough, with some mopping-up afterwards. Most of the trophies are easy to obtain - though that's not to say the game isn't frustrating at times, and can be challenging with its glitches and camera angles.
Overall, if you push through, you can get the Platinum in 10-12 hours, so long as you obtain the missable trophies during your playthrough.
While the game may sound easy - and we did rate it only a 1-star for difficulty, after all - there are frustrating moments, particularly due to the camera angles, which can cause some of the platforming to be difficult.
That being said, we recommend first getting through a single playthrough and collecting the 4 missable trophies along the way. The first is the Speed trophy, which requires you to complete the game in under 8 hours. This is very doable, so long as you skip all the seductive games and side missions. Just focus on the 41 main missions until the end. As long as you don't waste time, you can easily finish the game in 6 hours.
During this playthrough, however, make sure to nab the other three missable trophies along the way. The Larry Scores trophy requires a total of 2,800 points, so aim for the bulls-eye. And the Three Bulls trophy requires three consecutive Bulls-eyes in the Shuffleboard mini-game. Both of these mini-games will autosave before you play, so if you don't get the trophy, just reload your save and try again.
Finally, the Suits You Sir trophy requires you to use all the unlockable costumes in the same mission. During the last mission you'll see a timer start. When that happens, jump into the costume shop and change into the 6 possible costumes.
After you've finished your first playthrough, you're free to roam and mop-up all the other trophies you may still be missing. Check out the Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust trophy guide links under our Links tab for specific details on what you need.
