Winter Stars
Winter Stars is a winter sports game where players participate in a number of winter-themed activities, including downhill skiing, free ride skiing, figure skating, snowmobile, curling, bobsled, snowboard cross, short track, and biathlon. The game includes both a Career mode and an arcade-style Training mode which allows for up to 4 local players to compete, as well as online competition. The game is compatible with the PlayStation Move controller.
Winter Stars received little attention upon release, though the few critics who did provide reviews gave an average score of 52%, praised for its variety of sports but criticized by others for being unpolished.
This is actually a low 2-star difficulty rating. While there are a few tricky challenges that may take some replays, such as curling and ski jumping, some persistence and practice is all that's required to eventually obtain the Platinum. There are no online trophies to worry about, and a Training mode allows you to easily mop-up after completing the Career.
Expect roughly 10-15 hours for the Platinum, depending on your skills.
Start things off by playing through the Career mode. To make things easier, you can select Easy if you wish. Your main goal is to go through and win all the Cups and challenges, in order to eventually unlock the Winter Stars World Tour Finals gold trophy. It's not necessary to win every event, as long as your score is good enough to win the Cup at the end. Remember to upgrade using the experience points you earn, not only to make the game easier but also to work towards the Prime Discipline Trophy.
Next, head into Training mode. Here is where you'll simply mop-up the remaining miscellaneous trophies. This includes the time trial related Beat Yourself trophy.
And that's it. Good luck!
