EA Sports UFC

EA Sports UFC is a mixed martial arts fighting game, based on the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Though it is the fourth game in the UFC series, it is the first in the EA Sports line since the game was taken over from THQ. The game includes a total roster of 97 UFC fighters, including such legends as Royce Gracie and even Bruce Lee. The game incorporates a mixture of AI strategies which can change in mid-match, as well as a full-body deformation simulator for added realism. The game also includes online matches.

EA Sports UFC received mixed reviews with an average score of 61%, praised for its graphics, presentation, smooth online play, and character creation process, but criticized for its combat system and dull moments such as training and drill exercises.

The offline trophies are fairly average in difficulty and not overly time-consuming. However, the online trophies are what brings this rating to a 3-star. These require some serious skills as you'll need to, for example, complete an entire season by knocking out every opponent and submitting every opponent. Also, given the age of the game, it's becoming more difficult to find players online. However, if you have a boosting partner, than many of the online trophies become easy to unlock, thereby bringing the overall difficulty score of the Platinum to a 2-star.

Expect roughly 16-20 hours for the Platinum if boosting the online trophies, and far more if going for them legitimately.

NOTE: A few trophies are easier to unlock with a second controller.

We recommend completing all the challenges, first. There a total of 90 challenges, and not only will this process assist in getting used to the game and its controls, but earn you the There Is No Try trophy.

After that, it's time to head into Career Mode. Here, you have the option of playing on Pro difficulty, which you'll eventually need to do to unlock the Forefathers trophy. Pro difficulty is not too difficult, particularly after your character has started leveling-up, and so we recommend starting on Pro to avoid a second playthrough. However, if you're having serious problems or lack the confidence, then start on an easier setting until you've gotten more used to the game.

During your playthrough on Career Mode, you'll be unlocking a number of trophies naturally. However, there are a few missable ones to watch out for. This includes Top Of The Mountain for continuously winning fights and climbing up the ranks, winning a Fight of the Night bonus for the Fight Of The Night trophy, win with the best submission for the Submission Of The Night trophy, win by the best knockout for the Knockout Of The Night trophy, completing your career with a win rate over 85% for The Prodigy trophy, and get 12 consecutive submission wins for the Grace Pride trophy. For details on these, be sure to check out the EA Sports UFC trophy guide links under our Links tab.

After that, it's time to mop-up all the remaining offline trophies. With the exception of those that specifically require you to play in Career Mode, many of the others can be done in Exhibition matches. Connect a second controller if you have one to make these even easier. Again, check out the EA Sports UFC trophy guide links to see what you still need and their requirements.

At any point during this process you can head online and start working on the online trophies, to which there are a total of 7. Some of these can be quite difficult to do legitimately, and the Friends Or Foes trophy requires someone on your friends list to possess the game in order to invite to a rivalry match. If you prefer boosting these, check out the boosting forums under our Links tab.
