Prey
Prey is a first-person survival shooter and a complete re-imagining of the 2006 title Prey, with a new story and characters. Set in an open-world environment, players traverse on a space station while collecting weapons and resources, and either avoiding or fighting against the Typhon aliens.
The player-character is Morgan Yu, a member of a research team who is about to venture to a space station when he is knocked unconscious after an attack by hostile aliens known as the Typhon. He awakes three years later, where the Typhon have taken over the space station.
Prey received positive reviews with an average score of 81%, praised for its atmosphere, presentation, and overall fun, though criticized by some for its lack in engaging characters and technical glitches with the AI.
The game can be played on Easy mode, although this is still no walk in the park. Using some strategic saves, the Platinum can be earned in two playthroughs, though be prepared for a lot of searching for collectibles. While more time-consuming than difficult, the Platinum can be earned by any average player with the help of the guides under our Links tab.
Expect roughly 40-50 hours for the Platinum, depending on your skills and how much exploration you do.
If you're hoping to unlock the Platinum in the minimum two playthroughs, then be prepared to do a lot of work in each. It should also be noted that you can play on Easy mode if you prefer, as it won't affect the trophies.
For your first playthrough, focus on finishing the game with 4+ empathy points for the I And Thou trophy, and avoid killing any humans for the Do Not Harm trophy, buy and use only human abilities for the Split Affinity trophy.
Also, be sure to complete all the Side Missions, and find all the variety of collectibles. Luckily, you will only need to discover about 90% of each collectible type in order to unlock the respective trophy. This includes all the emails for the Press Sneak trophy, finding the dead crew members for the Missing Persons trophy, consumed each type of food and drink for the TranStar Gourmand trophy, read all the Starbender books for the Prism Master trophy, finding and listening to all the messages Morgan left for himself for the Dear Future Self trophy, all the smuggler's dead drops for the Black Market trophy, and found and listened to all the TranScribe recordings for the Psychometry trophy.
It should be noted that the point of no return is when starting the Before I Give You The Key story mission. Once you reach this point, be sure to make a manual save. By this point, attempt to get all the remaining miscellaneous trophies that you can. Be sure to check out the Prey trophy guide links under our Links tab to help you.
With all that done, it's time for your second playthrough. Here is where you can hopefully unlock the few trophies that you're still missing, and finally the Platinum. This should probably include the No Needles trophy for playing the game without installing Neuromods. Make sure to make a manual save before blowing up the station, so that you can go back and get the Split Affinity trophy. You will also want to kill all the humans for the I And It trophy, which in turn will also unlock the Awkward Ride Home trophy after escaping the space station with only Dahl.
