The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a third-person action RPG set in an open world, and based on the novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. Controlling the titular character Geralt of Rivia, players use a variety of medieval weaponry to take down monsters and other enemies, while also using magical signs to slow down or destroy opponents.

Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, a mutated mercenary who hunts monsters for profit. While attempting to protect his lover Yennefer, and the child Ciri who is the last heir to an ancient elfish bloodline, he soon finds himself caught in the middle of a civil war between two great kingdoms that have split the Continent in two.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received highly positive reviews with an average score of 93%, praised for its epic world with attention to details, engaging story and characters, combat system, and overall fun gameplay.

This is a high 3-star rating. While the game can be tricky at times, especially during the beginning when you're still learning the ropes, there is a lot to do and many hours of gameplay on route for the Platinum. There are also some missable trophies which, if you're not careful and refrain from making backup saves, could result in having to do a second playthrough. Overall, the Platinum is completely doable for any average gamer, as long as you have the time.

Expect well over a hundred hours for the Platinum.

If you wish to avoid two playthroughs, then start your game on Death March difficulty, which is the hardest mode in the game, in order to unlock the Walked The Path trophy after completing the main story. The biggest different between Death March and easier modes, is that your vitality takes a longer time to regenerate, as you can only do so through consumables such as food and water.

The game may feel pretty tough at first, but once you get used to things, you'll find that Death March isn't too bad. Just be sure to invest your skill points into improving Vitality, such as Sun and Stars, and Survival Instinct, and explore and loot as much as you can for items that can help you.

There are three missable trophies you should keep in mind while going through the story. This includes the Assassin Of Kings trophy which requires completing specific side quests before heading to the Isle of Mists, the Card Collector trophy as some of the cards can be missed, and the Full Crew trophy for recruiting all 7 allies. If you wish to avoid having to do a second playthrough, be sure to check out the details on these three trophies, and make some back-up saves just in case.

There are another 7 missable trophies to be aware of, as well. While most of these cannot be earned until after completing the main quest, it's a good idea to look these up and be careful not to lock yourself out of them. These include the Even Odds, the Fast And Furious, the Friends With Benefits, the Gwent Master, the Kingmaker, The Doppler Effect, and the Woodland Spirit trophies. Be sure to check out the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt trophy guide links under our Links tab for specific details.

Once you've completed the main quest and unlocked the Walked The Path trophy, you'll enter a free-roam stage, where you can work on those remaining trophies. Here, feel free to change the difficulty setting to Easy mode.

At this point, you can basically work on unlocking trophies in whichever order you prefer. This will probably include those related to completing the Witcher Contracts, all the Fist Fights, the Horse Races, and a few other miscellaneous ones. Remember to be aware of those missable trophies, if you haven't gotten them, already.
