Perhaps Sony is trying to appease the frustration some gamers are feeling after the announcement of ending physical disc production. Either way, they have decided to release four freebies next month, rather than the standard three. And so, here is the PlayStation Plus free games September 2026 line-up, which will be available for download on Tuesday, September 1.

First, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Sniper Elite: Resistance, the third-person tactical shooter developed by Rebellion Developments, which was first released last year. As in previous installments, players explore an open area, with the option of using stealth tactics to reach their objective. The game can be played solo, or in co-op, as well as offering online multiplayer.

Next, also for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Wobbly Life, an open-world sandbox co-op game developed by RubberBandGames. Best described as a kids version of GTA, players play mini-games, complete missions, ride around in vehicles, and dress themselves up in over 500 different clothing items.

Next, for the PS5, there’s MLB The Show 26, the latest installment in the MLB: The Show series developed by San Diego Studio. The career mode has been expanded to begin with high school and college baseball, the Diamond Dynasty card-collecting mode has returned, while Stadium Creator allows players to build their own ballparks.

Lastly, for the PS4, there’s Chained Echoes, a 2022 RPG developed by Matthias Linda. Heavily inspired by classic JRPGs, the game features turn-based combat and 16-bit-style visuals, as players try to stop a war between three kingdoms.

Among the PlayStation Plus free games September 2026 line-up, all four titles have platinum trophies to unlock.

Among them, Wobbly Life is by far the easiest. The game itself is quite simple without anything particularly frustrating, and requires only about 12 hours of gameplay for the platinum.

Next, unlocking the platinum for MLB The Show 26 is below-average in terms of difficulty, especially if you already have experience with games in this series. As usual, there are sliders to make your trophy hunting a little easier. Expect around 15 hours of gameplay, depending on your skills and experience.

After that, the platinum for Chained Echoes is average in terms of difficulty. As you can expect from a JRPG-inspired game, more strategy and patience is required than skills. The platinum can be unlocked in about 30 hours or so.

Lastly, unlocking the platinum trophy for Sniper Elite: Resistance, is not an easy task. This is mainly due to having to play the Propaganda Missions on Authentic Difficulty, which can be quite challenging. There are also three online trophies to collect as well. Depending on your skills, getting this platinum can take anywhere between 65-80 hours.
