Rebel Galaxy

Rebel Galaxy is a space flight and combat simulator using capital ships, taking place in an open-world, procedurally generated universe. Players are free to perform several activities including bounty hunting, trading, pirating, or pirate hunting. Combat takes place on a two-dimensional plane of movement along the ship's broadsides, while attacking fighters and gunships capable of three-dimensional maneuvering. Performing activities earn the player credits which can be used to purchase new ships and upgrades.

Rebel Galaxy received mostly positive reviews with an average score of 70%, praised for its combat system, flexibility in the player's method of play, and overall fun, though criticized by some for its lack in story depth and characters.

While the game can be challenging at first, things get much easier once you acquire enough upgrades. However, the 3-star difficulty is due to the time required, as there is plenty to do for obtaining the Platinum. Yet there are no missable nor online trophies to worry about. As long as you can put in the time, any average player can unlock the Platinum.

Expect anywhere between 55-70 hours of gameplay, depending on whether you rush through or take your time.

There are no missable trophies to worry about, so the ultimate goal of your first step is to work through and complete the story.

That being said, you'll probably find things quite difficult at the beginning. Yet, stay patient. The more upgrades, and eventually better ships, you acquire, the easier the game becomes. We recommend, after completing the first mission, to continuously upgrade your equipment after each activity when you have enough credits. The Mining Runs are a good start for this.

Eventually you'll be able to take on more challenging missions and work your way through the story. If you don't like the missions posted on the Mission Board, it's possible to refresh them. To do this, accept all the missions, then immediately abandon them. Leave the station, then return to find the missions have been refreshed.

By the time you completed the story, you should have a good chunk of the trophies unlocked. After that, it's a matter of mopping-up what's left. This will probably include the Pirate Killer trophy for killing 20 Pirate Lords, destroying 1,000 Capital-Class ships for the Capital Smasher trophy, and earning an accumulated amount of 50 million credits for the Filthy Lucre trophy.
