PlayStation Plus Free Games September 2025

For all the trophy hunters out there, you may have noticed that last month’s freebies had some pretty tough platinums to obtain. Sony is being much more lenient this month, at least for two out of the three games. And so, here is the PlayStation Plus free games September 2025 line-up, available for download on Tuesday, September 2.

First, for both the PS4 and PS5, there’s Viewfinder, the puzzle game developed by Sad Owl Studios. Players try to map out a 2D image onto a 3D world, which will allow for access to a teleportation device that takes players to the next level.

Next, for the PS4, there’s Psychonauts 2, the platformer developed by Double Fine and published by Xbox Game Studios (yes, that’s right!). A sequel to the 2005 Psychonauts, players control Raz, a child from a family of circus acrobats and possesses psychic powers that allow him to enter the minds of others, and play through different 3D environments with the goal of resolving psychological issues.

Lastly, for the PS4, there is Stardew Valley, the 2016 farming simulator developed by ConcernedApe. Taking inspiration from Harvest Moon, the player-character inherits a farm from their deceased grandfather, and work by clearing the land, raising animals, and harvesting crops.

All titles in the PlayStation Plus free games September 2025 line-up have platinum trophies to unlock.

Among them, Viewfinder is both the easiest and quickest platinum to obtain. Following a video guide will make the puzzles relatively easy, and require only 5-6 hours of gameplay.

Next, Psychonauts 2 is a fairly easy platinum as well, though keep in mind that there are quite a few collectables to find. Expect roughly around 25 hours of gameplay for this one.

Lastly, while the majority of the trophies on Stardew Valley are quite easy, there is a single trophy which requires playing an arcade game without dying, which makes the overall platinum for this game quite difficult. In addition, you will need well over 100 hours of gameplay as well.

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition is a farming simulating adventure. The game was first released on the Nintendo GameCube in 2003, then ported onto the PlayStation 2 in 2004 as a special edition, before being revamped with trophy support for the PlayStation 4 in 2017. Players begin with a farm and a cow, and work to expand by acquiring higher grade cattle and growing a variety of vegetables. As the game spans over a 30 year period, in addition to farming, the player-character can meet friends, get married, and raise children.

The original Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life received positive reviews with an average score of 80%, praised for its gameplay and overall addicting fun, though criticized by some for technical issues.

The game doesn't require any skill per se, only some strategy, luck, and a lot of time. There are a couple missable trophies which are not difficult, but could double your playtime if you miss them during your first playthrough, particularly the Lights In The Sky trophy. Otherwise, any average player should have no problem unlocking the Platinum, as long as you have the time to spare.

Expect roughly 40-50 hours for the Platinum, provided you managed to unlock the Lights In The Sky trophy on your first playthrough.

There isn't a lot of trophy hunting you can do until Chapter 2, so until then, focus on farming and making friends. Focus specifically on becoming friends with Galen, as he will be more difficult in Chapter 2 and require mini-games to boost friendship with him.

You'll also want to work on befriending Tim and Vesta whom you'll need later for acquiring the Strange Hoe and Weird Hoe respectively, Cody and Dr. Hardy for the Strange Sickle and Weird Sickle, Romana for the Watering Can W, Wally for the Wool Clippers. Also, to work towards collecting 10 different records for the Record Keeping trophy, you'll want to work on befriending Griffin, Rock, Marlin, Chris, Kate, Carter, Mukumuku, and Sebastian.

While all these character's friendships can be raised later, Galen is your priority before ending Chapter 1.

Finally, be aware of the missable Diligent Digger trophy, which requires you to dig up all five tablets. The first tone, Tablet C, can only be dug up during Chapter 1.

Once Chapter 2 begins, from here on out you can start getting more serious with the trophy hunting. Be aware of the other missable trophy, A Hard Bargain, where you need to haggle with Van to buy a goat for under 4,000G, which can only be done at the start of Chapter 2.

As you work through the game and following chapters, unlocking trophies along the way, remember to dig up each chapter's tablet for the Diligent Digger trophy, and attend festivals for the Serious Celebrator trophy. Be sure to check out the Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life Special Edition trophy guide links under our Links tab for more specific instructions on whichever trophies you're working on.

The Lights In The Sky is the main trophy you'll want to get out of the way, as missing it could cost you a second playthrough. The trophy involves witnessing 6 cutscenes of the Harvest Sprites. The earliest you can start watching some of these cutscenes is Chapter 2. Also, the chances of these cuscenes occurring when it's raining are very slim, so attempt to view them when the sky is clear. Check out the Lights In The Sky Tips under our Links tab for more details. And again, make this trophy a priority if you want to avoid a second playthrough.

Once you've gotten all the trophies, with the exception of the story-related ones, you can just keep sleeping to speed up the process to end the game, and obtain the Platinum trophy.
