PlayStation Plus Free Games February 2019

Enter February, the most romantic month in the year as it hosts Valentine’s Day. And what better way to celebrate this amorous occasion than by playing some violent games. And so, here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus Free Games February 2019 that are available for download on February 5.

On the PlayStation 4, there’s For Honor, a hack n’slash where knights, vikings, and samurai battle in a medieval setting. And Season 1 of Hitman, the 2016 stealth game told in an episodic format.

For the PlayStation 3, there’s the 2008 Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, the stealth action title by Hideo Kojima, and has been revamped with trophy support. And Divekick, a 2D comical fighting game which parodies other games in the same genre. Divekick is a cross-plat with the PS Vita.

And on the PlayStation Vita, there’s Gunhouse, a cross between a tower-defense and puzzle game where players must defend orphans against an alien invasion. Gunhouse is also a cross-plat with the PS4. And Rogue Aces, an air combat game where players face off against the Baron in order to liberate some islands.

Among the PlayStation Plus Free Games February 2019 titles, For Honor, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and Rogue Aces have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Among these, the Platinum for Rogue Aces is not too difficult once you get the hang of the controls, and requires only around 18 hours. For Honor is is of average difficulty, but requires at least 60 hours for the Platinum, while Metal Gear Solid 4 can be quite challenging and needs at least 80 hours.

Also, unlocking 100% of the trophies on Hitman is not particularly difficult and only needs about 20 hours. Divekick is an easy game to get all the trophies as long as you have the patience to grind for over 100 hours online.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, is the sixth MGS title directed by Hideo Kojima, and the chronological sequel to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of the Liberty, taking place five years after. Guns of the Patriots was released world-wide in June of 2008, but was updated with a trophy patch in August 2012.

Set in 2014, Snake is suffering from Werner's Syndrome, resulting in accelerated aging and allowing only a year left to live. For his "final mission," he accepts a job from Colonel Roy Campbell, now working for the UN, to infiltrate Liquid's army camp in the Middle East to assassinate him.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots received high praise by nearly all online gaming critics, with an average score of 96% for its innovative gameplay, fantastic graphics and presentation, and clever story.

If you thought the previous HD Metal Gear Solid games were long and challenging for the platinum, Guns of the Patriots takes the cake. You will need to do a minimum of 8 playthroughs, and that's provided you managed to achieve your trophy-hunting and emblem-hunting goals in each. If you make a mistake, expect to do a ninth or tenth playthrough.

This 4-star rating is based on both time consumption (nearly 100 hours of gameplay) as well as skills involved.

There's no way getting around having to do 8 playthroughs, as you need to fulfill certain requirements to collect all the emblems. However, if you play your cards right, you can avoid having to perform more than eight. The game also includes a number of missable trophies you'll need to collect along the way - just make sure you've obtained them all at some point during your eight playthroughs. Check out the Metal Gear Solid 4 trophy guide links under our Links tab for further details.

NOTE: The trophies are not retroactive, which means if you've played and completed the game BEFORE the August 2012 trophy patch, you will not automatically acquire any trophies.

On your first playthrough, select Liquid Snake difficulty, and focus on acquiring The Chicken emblem. This includes having to play the game a total of 35 hours minimum, which makes this run an excellent opportunity to acquire the majority of the missable trophies, such as the "Doll" trophies, Flashback Mania, Sunlight!, Ghost Photophraph Addict, Crop Circle, and many others. By the end of this run, you should have hopefully 22 of the emblems collected. Check out the walkthroughs in our Links page for further details. Also, after having acquired The Chicken emblem, you will have obtained the Corpse Camo, which is necessary in the next step.

For your second playthrough, aim for the Assassin and Tarantula emblems. By the end of this run, you should also be able to obtain the Divine Wind and the I Just Don't Fear Death trophies.

Next, play the game four more times to acquire the next four emblems: Spider, Centipede, Leopard, and Jaguar. Also, use this opportunity to collect any other missable trophies you may have missed earlier. This includes the Infinite Ammo, Stealth Camouflage, and the I Am THE Expert On Weapons trophies.

Now, for the toughest part of the game, you'll be playing your seventh playthrough to acquire the Big Boss emblem. This will also unlock another 9 emblems, such as Hound, FoxHound, Fox, Raven, Pigeon, Wolf, Octopus, Mantis, and Scorpion, for a current total of 38 emblems.

Finally, load up your eighth and final playthrough, to acquire the remaining 2 emblems: Panther and Little Gray. After this, you should acquire the Sounds Of The Battlefield trophy, along with the Platinum.
