Metro 2033 Redux

Metro 2033 Redux is a first-person survival horror originally released for the Xbox 360 and PC in 2010, and revamped for the PS4 in 2014 as a bundle with Metro Last Light. Players use a variety of firearms and weapons to battle enemies, as well as use stealth tactics, while scavenging for ammunition and items. Enemies are both humans and mutants which live in the tunnels of the Moscow Metro system. Players also make moral choices during the game, which determines the outcome of the story.

Set in the year 2033, a nuclear war has forced the survivors to live in the underground Metro system of Moscow, where people grow mushrooms, hunt mutated rats, scavenge for food and items, and use bullets as currency. Artyom is one of these survivors, sent on a quest to seek help to fight against an strange creatures known as the Dark Ones.

The original Metro 2033 received positive reviews, while the Redux version received outstanding reviews with an average score of 89%, praised for its atmosphere, environment, detail, and overall fun experience.

This is a low 2-star difficulty, as the Platinum is not particularly difficult, nor time-consuming. At least two playthroughs are required, one for each of the two difficulty modes, as well as for getting both the good and bad ending. There are a number of kill-related trophies, which the game records progress immediately after the kill, which means reloading checkpoints makes grinding quick and easy.

If only doing the two necessary playthroughs, the Platinum can be unlocked in roughly 20 hours.

For your first playthrough, we recommend starting on the normal difficulty by selecting Spartan mode, and working towards getting the good ending for the Enlightened trophy. Since you'll be going for the good ending, do not go for the Merciful or Hedge-Hopper trophies at this time.

However, you'll want to try and get all the other trophies during this first playthrough. Many of them are kill-related. The game records your progress after each action is made, so feel free to grind for a specific trophy, reload to the previous checkpoint, and continue grinding again. This should make those kill-related trophies much quicker to obtain, as well as a few other miscellaneous ones, such as opening safes for the Thief trophy.

Also, take note of a few missable trophies. This includes accumulating a total of at least 1000 military-grade rounds at one time for the Scrooge trophy, and spending 500 military-grade 5.45 rounds at one time for the Wheeler-Dealer trophy.

Also, remember to talk with NPC characters, obey their orders, and give bullets to beggars to make sure you unlock the Enlightened trophy at the end of your playthrough. Be sure to check out the Metro 2033 Redux trophy guide links under our Links tab for more specific details.

Hopefully by the end of your first playthrough, you should have the vast majority of the trophies. For your second, you'll want to play on the hard mode which is Survivor, and get the bad ending for the If It's Hostile You Kill It trophy. Survivor mode is not much more difficult, though you will move slower and find less resources.

This is also your chance to kill all the Red Army and Fascist Soldiers on the Frontline level for the Hedge-Hopper trophy, and completing the Black Station level without killing or knocking out any enemies for the Merciful trophy. Also, if you missed any other trophies on your previous playthrough, try to mop them up now. Again, check out the Metro 2033 Redux trophy guide links if you need extra help.

By the end of your second playthrough, you should unlock the Platinum trophy. If not, start another game and mop-up anything you're still missing.
