Monster Jam: Battlegrounds

Monster Jam: Battlegrounds is an off-road racing and stunt-performing game using monster trucks, and part of the Monster Jam series licensed by the United States Hot Rod Association. Players select from 23 different monster trucks, take part in both race and freestyle events in five different authentic stadiums, as well as race and perform jumps out in various environments.

Only a handful of critics bothered to review Monster Jam: Battlegrounds awarding it an average score of 55%, praised for its overall fun though criticized for mediocre graphics and limited variety of events.

The majority of the trophies are easy to unlock. The game itself is also rather short, and not particularly difficult. There are only a few stunts which can be frustrating and take several tries perform successfully. Experience with the Monster Jam series, or racing games in general, isn't necessary.

Expect only around 5 or 6 hours of gaming for the Platinum, depending on skills and a little luck.

To begin with, you'll be starting off with 2 different monster trucks. Select one, and focus on upgrading only that truck. There is no different between those that are still locked, except for their looks.

There are three kinds of events: Skill Driving, Stunt Mode, and Stadium Events. Focus on playing - and getting three stars - on all the Driving and Stadium events. Most of the time you'll receive three stars on your first try, but if not, just replay until you do. Don't worry about the Stunt Mode yet - except for getting a star to unlock more events - as it's nearly impossible to get three stars until your truck is properly upgraded.

Once your truck has reached at least Level 4, where you should now have a couple boosts and a jump power-up, you should now be able to replay some of those Stunt events and get three stars.

Don't bother spending your credits on anything else, until you've fully upgraded your truck. Once you have, feel free to unlock the Max-D and Grave Digger trucks to get their respective trophies.

After you've managed to get three stars on all events, simply mop-up anything you may be missing. This could include some of the stunts to be performed in the stadiums.

If you're having trouble with any of the Stunt events, be sure to check out the videos under our Links tab.

PlayStation Plus Free Games October 2017

It’s that time of the month again, when Sony unveils their next line-up for PlayStation Plus Free Games October 2017.

On the PlayStation 4, there’s Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, the next installment in Solid Snake’s adventures following Ground Zeroes and a prequel to the original Metal Gear titles. Also, there’s Amnesia: Collection, a 2-in-1 which includes the original 2010 survival horror The Dark Descent, and the 2013 title A Machine for Pigs.

For the PlayStation 3, there’s Monster Jam: Battlegrounds, where players race and crush their way to victory in behemoth monster trucks. And Hustle Kings, the billiards title which is also compatible with the Move controller and includes 3D functionality to truly feel like you’re at a pool hall.

Finally, on the PlayStation Vita, there’s Hue, the award winning puzzle adventure involving a journey through a grey land and discovering colored fragments. And Sky Force Anniversary, a revamp of the classic vertical-scrolling shoot em up arcade game. Hue is a cross-plat with the PS4, while Sky Force Anniversary is a cross-plat with both the PS4 and PS3.

Also, RIGS Mechanized Combat League for the PlayStation VR, which was offered as a free download for PlayStation Plus members last month, continues to remain available if you haven’t yet added it to your collection.

Among the PlayStation Plus Free Games October 2017, Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, Amnesia: Collection, and Monster Jam: Battlegrounds have Platinum trophies to unlock. Among them, Monster Jam: Battlegrounds is by far the easiest, requiring only 5 hours of gameplay. Amnesia: Collection is not too difficult if following a guide to find all those collectibles, and requires roughly 15 hours. Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain is of average difficulty, though will require well over 100 hours.

Also, while Hue can be tricky at times, less than 10 hours is required to unlock 100% of the trophies. Sky Force Anniversary needs some good shoot em up skills, though all trophies can be locked in 10-15 hours, depending on your abilities. Hustle Kings is perhaps the most challenging game to acquire 100% of the trophies, needing not only skills, but a lot of luck on your side.

Monster Jam Path of Destruction Trophy Guide

Monster Jam: Path of Destruction

Monster Jam: Path of Destruction is a racing game based on the United States Hot Rod Association (USHRA) monster truck titles, the fourth in the series, and first on the PlayStation 3.

With 28 licensed trucks to choose from, players can customize using a number of parts, then race and destroy in 8 different, real-life stadiums while rising in the ranks to become the ultimate monster truck driver.

Due to the unpopularity of this game, few reviews have been written. Those that have, gave an average score of 68%. While monster truck fans may find enjoyment out of the game, critics have stated the low scores were due to muddled graphics and overall simplicity.

Another easy Platinum in the tradition of Cars: Race-O-Rama, though perhaps not as embarrassing to have in your collection. All trophies are offline, and half of which you can collect in just a few hours. Collect gold medals in each race, perform a few easy stunts, build your XP, and between 10 to 15 hours, you should have a brand new Platinum trophy. This game requires more patience than skill.

This game contains 2 missable trophies: Sweep, which requires you to obtain three gold medals in a row, and Biggest Fan, in which you must attend 20 events in a row using the same truck. Focus on these two first, and the rest should be smooth sailing.

You will need to play Hard Difficulty in order to get the Pro Driver trophy, which needs 20 gold medals. Once this trophy is out of the way, you can obtain all the others on Easy. But don't worry, Hard Difficulty isn't that much more difficult.

After that, the rest of the trophies can easily be moped up as you continue to earn XP. See the Monster Jam Path of Destruction trophy guide links under our Links tab if you have any trouble with specific trophies.
