Tropico 5

Tropico 5 is a construction and management simulation game, somewhat similar in style to SimCity and Civilization, and the fifth in the Tropico series which began in 2001 on the PC and later on the Xbox 360. Players manage a country as it evolves from the 19th to the 21st Century with the goal of remaining in power and creating a powerful nation, through the citizens' happiness, a healthy economy, and survival against other nations' possible attacks. The game includes both online cooperative and competitive multiplayer for up to four players.

Tropico 5 received mainly positive reviews with an average score of 76%, praised for its fun challenge, and improvement over its predecessor, but criticized for a lack of replay value.

This is a high 2-star, and mainly due to the few online trophies which can be quite challenging if done legitimately. The good news is, these trophies can easily be boosted. If you have a boosting partner and manage to get the 6 online trophies out of the way, then the rating could be brought down to a low 2-star. The game requires a bit of time, as well as some good strategy.

Expect anywhere between 25-35 hours on this Platinum, depending on whether or not you're boosting the online Trophies.

As you might expect, we recommend your first step to be playing through the tutorial. There are 30 tasks to complete. Doing so will not only teach you the basic mechanics of the game, but also unlock the Dictatorship 101 trophy.

After that, it's time to head into the Campaign. At this point, we recommend just focusing on getting through the campaign and completing the missions, as a great majority of trophies will be unlocked naturally in the process. Doing this will earn you, at least, the A New Dawn, Day 0, Back To The Past, Leon Must Die, and Hope trophies, for completing the first, seventh, eighth, thirteenth, and fifteenth campaigns, respectively.

Once that's done, you can start working on the 6 online trophies. While Good Sportsmanship is simply for completing a multiplayer game, the other require you to either win a game by points, by money, and by construction. The other two are for connecting a dock with another player and sharing 1,000 MW of power. If you're having trouble getting these online, check out the boosting forums in our Links page.

Last, simply mop-up any of the offline trophies you're still missing. These can easily be earned in sandbox with all sliders set to Easy.
