Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a first-person shooter, the eighth main entry in the Wolfenstein series, and a sequel to the 2014 Wolfenstein: The New Order. Players use a variety of weapons such as firearms, explosives, and melee weapons, to fight their way through each level with a cover system. The game also includes moments where stealth tactics can be employed.

Taking place several months following the events of Wolfenstein: The New Order, William "B.J." Blazkowicz has awoken from a coma. He soon sets off to forge new alliances with resistance groups to continue fighting against the Nazi empire by first attempting to liberate the United States.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus received positive reviews with an average score of 87%, praised for its shooting mechanics, level design, and fast-paced action, while criticized by some for its story.

The reason for the 4-star difficulty is purely for the skills required in obtaining the Platinum. While the majority of the trophies are fairly average in difficulty, you will need to beat the game on its hardest difficulty setting, which is no cakewalk. But far worse is the Mein Leben trophy, which requires not only a playthrough on the hardest difficulty, but a successful run on a single life, with no saves or checkpoints. This will require a vast amount of practice, and is the ultimate roadblock in stopping some players from obtaining the Platinum.

Due to the amount of practice involved for the Mein Leben trophy, and expecting to start over several times, unlocking the Platinum will probably take over a hundred hours.

Start by playing through the game on whichever difficulty setting you choose. Simply going through this playthrough will unlock a few story-related trophies.

There are also four missable trophies which we recommend aiming for during your first playthrough. These include Crippled But Able for performing a takedown while in the wheelchair, Kick It for killing Hitler during the Aerostat Audition, I'm Machine Enough for beating the Panzerhund ride without killing anyone on Bring'em On difficulty or higher, and Keep Playing allowing the game to resume during and end credits. Also, it should be noted that the Make A Point trophy for achieving the highest score in the shooting range should be done early in the game, as this will become more difficult later on. And the same goes for the First Loser trophy, which requires getting the second best time in the Killhouse. Check out the Wolfenstein II The New Colossus trophy guide links under our Links tab for more details, if needed.

Finally, there are a number of collectibles to find which, if you want to avoid much backtracking, you can find these now. These include 15 toys for the Toy Collector, 10 music records for the Audiophile trophy, 50 golds for the Golden Boy, 16 Ubercommander death cards for the Terror-Billy trophy, 75 Starcards for the Meet The Cast, 50 concept arts for the Art Aficionado trophy, as well as fully upgrading all weapons for the Gun Nut trophy. Check out one of the collectible locations guides under our Links tab for these.

Once you've completed your initial playthrough, it's time to backtrack to mop up all those miscellaneous trophies you may still be missing. Be sure to load a previous save, rather than starting a new game, as nothing will carry over. Your goal here is to get all the remaining trophies with the exception of the difficulty completion related ones. Those will come next. Again, check out the Wolfenstein II The New Colossus trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you still need and their requirements.

Now, it's time to start your playthrough on I Am Death Incarnate, which is the hardest mode in the game. Your goal here is not just to get through, but to practice in preparation for your Mein Leben playthrough. Note which levels or areas are difficult, so you can go back and retry them, until you feel confident enough to get through the entire game without dying. Because that is what's required for your final trophy.

Once you feel you're ready, it's time for the Mein Leben playthrough. Here, you will be playing on the same hard mode as before, with the difference being that you cannot die even once, and there are no saves or checkpoints. While the game itself may take around 5-6 hours, expect to dedicate a full afternoon in taking your time, using stealth whenever possible, and taking your time. With enough practice and patience, and as long as you don't give up, you can get that Mein Leben trophy, as well as the Platinum.

Good luck!
