God of War: Ascension

God of War: Ascension is a third-person action adventure, and the seventh installment in the God of War series (including the mobile phone version, Betrayal). The story is a prequel to the series, taking place between events and flashbacks in the first God of War title.

Kratos, after being tricked by Ares into slaughtering his wife and daughter, renounces the god of war. As a result of breaking his blood oath to Ares, he is imprisoned by the three Furies, the guardians of honor and enforcers of punishment. With the help of Orkos the oath keeper, Kratos must break free from his imprisonment and stop the Furies who are attempting to overthrow Mount Olympus. The game features a multiplayer function, which is new to the God of War series.

Ascension received positive reviews, with an average score of 80%, praised for its overall gameplay and fantastic graphics, but criticized for a lack of fresh ideas, while receiving mixed feedback on the multiplayer function.

Due to a few alterations from the previous God of War titles, Ascension is a wee bit easier to complete. For one, there is no Challenge of the Gods (yeah!). Also, they've added a Chapter Select which makes collecting those missable trophies a lot easier. However, playing a New Game+ will now disable trophies, so stay away from that. Also, they've added Multiplayer with an online trophy. The single online trophy is easy to acquire without any boosting required, but will need an Online Pass, which means if you rented or purchased the game used, you will have to pay a little extra.

To obtain the Platinum in the shortest amount of time, start your gameplay on Hard mode. Along the way, you'll want to find the standard collectibles - Gorgon Eyes and Phoenix Feathers - as well as finding all 10 artifacts, and reconstruct the 7 decayed chests which you'll begin doing after obtaining the Amulet of Uroborus in chapter 13. Also, try your best to fully upgrade Kratos by gathering as many red orbs as possible, using all 5 different types of weapons you come across, and collecting the combat-related trophies.

If you haven't collected all those trophies in your first playthrough, fear not. You can now use the Chapter Select to go back and grab any trophies you missed. Check out the God of War Ascension trophy guide links under our Links tab for further details.

Afterwards, you should only have the online trophy to collect, which requires an Online Pass. The trophy only requires you to go through the tutorial, and once you exit out, the trophy should bling on your screen.

God of War II Trophy Guide

God of War II Trophy Guide. Difficulty: **  A third-person action game and revamp of the 2007 title on the PS2. A slightly easier Platinum than its predecessor, as there is no Speed Run trophy.

God of War II

God of War II is a third-person action adventure, originally released for the PlayStation 2 in March 2007, and revamped for the PlayStation 3 with trophies in the God Of War: Collection in November 2009. It continues the story of Kratos, after killing Aries and becoming the new god of war on Mount Olympus.

Still haunted by the nightmares of his past actions, Kratos collects an army of Spartans and storms the city of Rhodes, despite Athena's warning of his lust for revenge. He becomes shunned by the other gods.

During the battle, Kratos finds his powers drained, before being killed by Zeus himself. He escapes from the underworld with the help of Gaia, who wishes to help Kratos destroy Zeus to undue the error she'd made so long ago.

Players who enjoyed the first game will enjoy the second. New combos and powers are to be tried, more challenges, with the standared blood and violence, all behind a tapestry of a mythological story.

If you've played the first God of War game already, then you know what to expect in terms of difficulty for the second. In fact, God of War II's Platinum is actually a little easier, as there's no "speed run" trophy.

All the others are similar. Most are story-based, and are automatically earned by going through and clearing the game. Others, like in the first title, require you to max out all your weapons, collect all Gorgon Eyes and Feathers, get a 500 hit combo, and complete the Challenge of the Titans. This time, however, you can Save your progress while doing the challenges, unlike the first GOW game which required you to complete everything in one sitting.

All in all, while not as simple as Hannah Montanna or Terminator, God of War II does not require overt skills or time to gain the Platinum trophy.

If you wish to gain the platinum in the quickest way possible, simply set the game on Easy mode, and follow the guides in our Links page. From there, you will discover all hidden chests containing red orbs, all Eyes of the Gorgon, all Uber chests, etc. Also, check out the God of War II trophy guide links under our Links tab to find decent locations and tricks to gaining the 500 hit combo.

If you are unable to max out your weapons, don't worry. You can select New Game + and continue where you left off.

And if you can't collect 20 Cyclops eyes during your playthrough (which we don't think is possible, anyway) you will have the chance when trying the Challenge of the Titans. Simply save your progress and retry the first challenge of ripping out the Cyclops' eye over and over until you've gotten enough for the trophy.

For help with the Challenge of the Gods, see the God of War II trophy guide links under our Links tab.

God of War

First released on the PlayStation 2 in 2005, then revamped for the PlayStation 3 in 2010, God of War introduces the character Kratos - a Spartan warrior who is on a path of redemption by stopping the god Ares from destroying Athens.

The game is a third-person action, where an assortment of button-configurations result in several attack combinations. Puzzles are also a major component to the challenges, where you will have to solve block jigsaws, operate levers under a timer, and find hidden passageways.

God of war has received much high praise by many critiques upon it's first release, and as of 2011, spawned two sequels.

Though at least 2 playthroughs are required, both can be performed under the Easy setting. Unlike many games, God of War does not have a trophy for completing on any expert levels. Many of the trophies - at least 75% - can be collected during a single round, since many are story-based.

The trophy I'll Take The Physical Challenge requires you to spend 2 to 4 hours (depending on your skills) going through various challenges, which are unlocked after beating the game. and for the trophy Speed Of Jason McDonald, you have to clear the game in under 5 hours - which is doable provided that you don't waste time battling unnecessary enemies. These two trophies are considered the most difficult, though are not too challenging.

In the beginning of the game, set the mode to Normal, than allow yourself to get hit and die in the first scene. After being killed a number of times, you'll be offered to play on Easy. Change the setting, and start playing.

There are a few missable trophies - such as Rockin' the Boat and Splash. Follow the guides provided in our Links page so you don't miss anything. Also, there are several ideal spots in which to gain the 200 combo necessary for the Hitman II trophy, and a glitch in which you can obtain infinite red orbs. Watch the Youtube videos we've provided so you'll know where these areas are, and be ready to claim the trophies.

Once you complete the story, and if you've been following the guides, you should have all the trophies except for I'll Take The Physical Challenge and Speed of Jason McDonald. Enter the Challenge of the Gods and - using the help from guides in our Links - complete them to be awarded the costume sets which give you bonus powers. Then, go through the game again at breakneck speed - rolling and hitting R1 to move quickly, and fighting only the "necessary" battles - to complete the game in under 5 hours.

God of War III

Kratos is back, in this anticipated sequel to the popular series which began on the PlayStation 2.

After losing the Blade of Olympus during his attack with Zeus, Kratos falls into the Underworld. There, he is confronted with the spirit of Athena, who explains that he must quell the Flame of Olympus in order to destroy Zeus. the quest puts Kratos on a long journey, as he makes his way out of the Underworld and climb Mount Olympus, battling Gods and Godesses along the way.

If you've played the previous God of War games, then you'll have an idea what to expect. The difficulty in obtaining the platinum is about the same.

Like the two previous games, there is another "Challenge" - this one called Challenge of Olympus. Although it's considered to be easier and less frustrating than their versions on the earlier games. What does differentiate the third in the series, is having to clear the game on its most difficult mode - Titan mode. But with patience and some skills, you shouldn't have too much problem.

NOTE: The Trophies on the PS4 have a separate list than those on the PS3.

If you have played the previous God of War games and feel confident enough to collect all the trophies under challenging circumstances, than it's possible to play through only once, if you select Titan mode. This, of course, is much more difficult but will save you heaps of time. Otherwise, if you're not confident enough, just play on Easy and collect all possible trophies.

Use the walkthroughs and guides under our Links tab to help find and collect all the collectables (Gorgon eyes, Phoenix Feathers, etc.) and other various challenges (rip apart an Olympus Sentry, 1000-hit combo, etc.)

Once that's finished, you just have the Challenge of Olympus, and there you go!
