Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock

Guitar Hero: Warriors of rock is a music rhythm game, and the sixth in the Guitar Hero series. The game allows up to four players to play as either a vocalist, bass, rhythm, or drum player, using instrument controllers to simulate the playing of music, by matching the scrolling notes on the screen.

In Quest mode, players are on a mission to save the Demigod of Rock from mechanized creatures, by recruiting warriors. Special powers have been added to the game, which are unlocked during the Quest mode, such as increasing the Star Power multiplier.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock received lukewarm reviews, with an average score of 74%, with many reviewers stating that the game is enjoyable for Guitar Hero fans, but lacks the overall appeal of previous titles in the series.

Perhaps a tad easier than Guitar Hero 5, and slightly less time consuming. Though as you may know, these music rhythm games are heavily skill dependent. Anyone who possesses serious Guitar Hero or Rock Band experience could bring this difficulty rating down to a 3-star, or possibly a high 2-star.

Having all four instruments is necessary, as well as either friends who can use them, or you'll need to find some online boosting buddies. For those of you with serious Guitar Hero skills might be able to unlock the Platinum in 30 hours or so. Otherwise, expect to be playing for far longer.

The first thing you'll want to do is play through the Quest Mode twice. The first time, you'll be unlocking several story-related trophies. The second time, you'll be aiming for the Perfect Perfectionist, in order to earn 40 stars on each song. During these two playthroughs, play on a level you feel comfortable on, but gradually increase the difficulty to gain experience you'll need later on.

Once that's finished, you can use Quickplay and start unlocking the remaining trophies. You'll need to work on getting 2,000 stars for the Ace Astrologer trophy. There are also a few trophies which require a full band, which you can either do at home with friends, or use the boosting forums under our Links tab to find people online. Many have found the Chosen One and Hand Mutilator trophies to be the most difficult, which include beating certain songs on Expert difficulty. Just keep practicing, and you'll get it.

Guitar Hero Van Halen Trophy Guide

Guitar Hero Van Halen Trophy Guide. Difficulty: *****  A music rhythm game and the third band-specific title in the Guitar Hero series. Arguably the most difficult game in the Guitar Hero series, demanding serious skills for the Platinum.

Guitar Hero: Van Halen

Guitar Hero: Van Halen is a music rhythm game, and the third band-specific title in the Guitar Hero series. The game includes 25 songs by Van Halen, as well as another 19 songs which were selected by the Van Halen artists as their inspiration. The game supports up to 4 players selecting from lead and bass guitar, drums, and vocals, as well as an online multiplayer mode.

Guitar Hero: Van Halen received generally low scores, with an average rating of 54%, criticized for its lack of songs, and overall inferiority compared to other band-specific titles such as Guitar Hero: Metallica.

Van Halen is arguably the most difficult music game in the Guitar Hero series to Platinum. Aside from the standard 100% notes in 4-player bands and online trophies, getting five stars on all instruments on expert mode demands the highest level of skill on all three instruments.

If you have incredible Guitar Hero skills, then it's possible to platinum this game in 30-40 hours. But for most, it will take months of practice.

NOTE: You will need at least one of each instrument in your possession for the Platinum trophy.

You can start with the tutorial, which not only shows you the ropes, but will earn you the Have You Seen His Grades trophy.

Next, you can start working through Career mode, which you'll need to complete with all 4 instruments. The difficulty-level trophies are stackable, so if this isn't your first Guitar Hero game and you feel confident enough, you can start working through on Expert level. During this stage, there are a number of miscellaneous trophies you can unlock as well. Eventually, you'll need to get five stars on all songs on Expert with each of the four instruments. Feel free to leave this for later.

Then, there are the 4 Guest Artist related trophies. After you've unlocked the artist-characters in Career, you can select them under the Select Rocker menu.

Lastly, there are the 3-4 player trophies, which you can either do offline if you have enough friends with Guitar Hero skills, or find people online. Some will require expert difficulty, while many of them can be done on easy.

Guitar Hero Metallica Trophy Guide

Guitar Hero Metallica Trophy Guide. Difficulty: *****  A music rhythm game and part of the Guitar Hero series focusing on the Metallica music band. The Platinum is not only time consuming, but demands some serious skills.

Guitar Hero: Metallica

Guitar Hero: Metallica is a music rhythm game, and the second in the Guitar Hero series to focus on the career and songs of a specific band, followed by Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. The game includes 49 tracks, 28 of which are by Metallica, which the remaining 21 are by bands which Metallica states are their personal favorites.

The game follows a similar style to Guitar Hero World Tour, in which players simulate the playing of rock music using an instrument controller, as a lead guitar, bass guitar, drums, or vocals. Players succeed by correctly playing the notes which scroll across the screen. The game includes online multiplayer, both competitive and co-operative, as well as a new "Expert+" difficulty for drums which allows the use of a second drum pedal to match Lars Ulrich's drumming style.

Guitar Hero: Metallica received positive reviews, with an average score of 85%, praised for its polish and effort dedicated to the fans, being more challenging than previous titles, and described as the best Guitar Hero title in the series since Neversoft took over the franchise.

This whopping 5-star rating is for anyone new to the Guitar Hero (or even Rock Band) series. However, the difficulty for this Platinum depends entirely on your skills.

Aside from having to play through the career 4 times, each with a different instrument, and aside from trying to unlock the 8 online trophies on a game which few are playing multiplayer, there are trophies which require you to reach certain scores on certain songs with a particular instrument. These said trophies are the ones which bring this game's difficulty from a 3 to a 5-star.

The time required to obtain the platinum is difficult to calculate, as it depends entirely on your skills. On expert player may take around 200 hours, but expect to put in far more. Our music rhythm game expert at Trophy Hunter clocked in at 289 hours.

NOTE: Owning each of the instruments - guitar, drum set, mic - is required for the Platinum.

There are a few trophies you can unlock near the beginning, such as The More I See for completing the tutorials, and a few for customizing characters.

From this point on, you'll want to work through the Career with each of the four instruments. While any level of difficulty is available, it's highly recommended you continuously make your way from Easy, to Medium, to Hard, to finally Expert, to hone your skills and prepare for the more challenging trophies ahead. By the time you finish your four Career playthroughs, you should by now have a good chuck of the trophies.

Next, there are 8 online trophies to worry about. The main problem you'll experience here, is finding people to play. Given the age of the game, there are few people in multiplayer. We recommend; if you find someone, send them a friend invite. Otherwise, check out the boosting forums under our Links tab.

Also, there are a number of trophies related to having a band of four players. These can also be done online, or simply invite three friends over. Keep in mind though, your friend will need to possess fairly good skills to unlock these trophies, such as Ride The Lightning, and 2 X 4.

Last, comes the most difficult trophies of all, which are the reason behind the 5-star rating. These trophies require you to earn a certain score on particular songs, with specific instruments. For the most part, you will need to play them on Expert, and need to play them well, in order to achieve the necessary score. Creeping Death is considered the most difficult, though all of them will certainly give you a run for your money.

Good luck!

Guitar Hero 5 Trophy Guide

Guitar Hero 5 Trophy Guide. Difficulty: ****  A music rhythm game and the fifth title in the Guitar Hero series which utilizes instrument-like controllers. While roughly the same difficulty as Rock Band 2, some trophies will require online assistance.

Guitar Hero 5

Guitar Hero 5 is a music rhythm game, the fifth in the Guitar Hero series which began on the PlayStation 2, and the first on the PlayStation 3 to possess trophy support. Using either a guitar controller, drum controller, or microphone, players mimic the playing of music by attempting to match the scrolling "notes."

The game allows for up to four players, either each playing different instruments or all the same. There are 85 songs on its track list, with 83 by separate artists, with more available for download at a price. Aside from the offline Career mode and Challenges, a multiplayer mode allows for online competitive and co-operative play.

Guitar Hero 5 received positive reviews, with an average score of 87%, praised for the game's "Jump in" added feature, simplified menu system, and wide selection of tracks.

You can expect roughly the same level of difficulty as Rock Band 2. While the majority of the trophies could be considered slightly easier in terms of skills, there are several which require some online help, such as playing a song with the same four instruments. Unless you possess four drums or four microphones, you will probably need to do some boosting.

At minimum, you will need one of each instrument: guitar, microphone, and drum. Those already possessing master-level skills at these music games and have boosting partners, can probably earn the Platinum in 40 hours. If this is your first time, then expect far more time.

This game doesn't require much of a road-map. Simply start on Career Mode and play your way through to the end. Along the way, attempt to get at least 5 stars on the songs to avoid mopping-up afterwards. There are also some challenge-specific trophies you can unlock, so be sure to check out the Guitar Hero 5 trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you need. By the end, and with some mopping-up, you should have nearly, or all, the offline trophies by now.

There are 3 trophies specific to online play, which includes Rocktopus for playing a Band vs. Band match, Outgoing for completing 25 Pro Face Off matches, and Menage A Huit for playing an online match with 8 players on the same instrument. In addition, however, are the trophies related to playing songs with four of the same types of instrument, which can't be done offline unless you possess four guitars, four sets of drums, and four microphones. Given the age of the game, these can be difficult to find online players. So either start making friends online, or check out the boosting forums under our Links tab.

Band Hero

After Activision's success with the Guitar Hero series, and in competition with EA's Rock Band games, comes Band Hero: a music game in which you can play guitar, bass, drums and vocals. With 65 songs to chose from, and even more available for download, players can rock-out either alone, online, or with up to four friends.

The game received fairly decent reviews, with an average score of 79%. Band Hero features many of the same sets as Guitar Hero 5, which has been both the subject of praise and criticism. Also, the strict censoring in order to adopt a more family-friendly game has been a topic of complaint.

This rating, of course, depends on your skills with the instruments - and for some trophies, your friends' skills, as well. If you've played Rock Band 2, then you'll have some idea of what is expected for the platinum.

Also, given the age of the game, you may struggle to find online players. Boosting may be a must, in this case.

Overall, the Platinum for this game is perhaps easier than Rock Band 2, and far easier than Rock Band 3. No Bladder Of Steel required.

Like any other music game, Band Hero doesn't require much of a roadmap. Simply work your way through the game, collecting trophies along the way. If you're new to the music game scene, you may wish to start with the tutorial to collect the Welcome To Band Hero trophy.

There are four-player trophies to be obtained, such as In The Moment, A Cool Mill, There's No "I" In Band Hero, Star Powered, and Four of a Kind. Either invite some friends over, or head online and look for help. Check out the boosting forum we've posted under our Links tab.

Aside from those four, there are three trophies which can only be had online. These include M.C., Face To Face, and Till Death Do Us Part. However, both Face To Face and Till Death Do Us Part don't require anyone to connect with. As long as you have two instruments plugged in, and you're online, you can still gain these trophies.

For further tips on each individual offline trophy, check out the Band Hero trophy guide links under our Links tab.
