Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan, known in the UK as Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom, is an action hack-and-slash based on the animated series of the same name, which in turn is based on the manga series by Hajime Isayama. With visuals inspired by the animated series, players use ODM gear to swing high above the battlefield and perform combo attacks to take down the giant Titan monsters. The game also includes a co-op mode.
Based on the first season of the anime Attack on Titan, a Colossal Titan breaks the outer wall of humanityâs home, allowing the Titans to come through and wreck havoc on any dwellers unable to get away. Ten years later, the protagonist Eren joins the 104th Cadet Corps to help take down the Titans and avenge the death of his mother.
The video game Attack on Titan received positive reviews with an average score of 75%, praised for its visuals, faithfulness to its source material, combat system, and overall fun, though criticized by some for its repetitiveness.
The majority of the trophies are of average difficulty and do not require a whole heap of time. Unfortunately, there is one trophy which not only requires plays on the more difficult True Attack mode, but needs hours and hours of grinding. Due to this single trophy, both the difficulty and time required bumps up the overall difficulty in obtaining the Platinum to a 3-star level. Certainly doable for most players, but expect some frustration and a lot of time required.
That Platinum can be unlocked in roughly 80-100 hours, depending on how much time is spent grinding. NOTE: The trophies on the PS4 share the same list with those on the PS3 and PS Vita.
Start by playing Attack mode, which is the main campaign, and playthrough while enjoying the game. You have the option to play on Easy mode, so feel free if you prefer as the difficulty does not affect the trophies. You will be unlocking a good chunk of the trophies as you work your way through Attack mode, both the story-related ones, as well as several others through natural play. There are no missable trophies, as you will be able to return to previous missions after completing Chapter 2. However, it is advisable to work towards getting an S rank whenever possible, simply to avoid more grinding later on.
With that finished, itâs time to begin the grinding process. Youâll now have the ability to do Survey Missions as well as Dire Subjugations. Since the Dire Subjugations will basically require you to replay previous missions, this is also a good chance to work on getting any S Ranks you missed in your first playthrough. Also, use this time to mop up any miscellaneous trophies you may still need. The final grind will be working towards The Outside World Must Be Ten Times Bigger Than Inside The Wall trophy, which is what gets in the way of many players on their route to the Platinum. This trophy requires a 100% completion of the Gallery. This includes obtaining all the gear in the game, which are 77 blades, 72 scabbards and canisters, 74 omni-gear, and 7 horses. This will require an extra playthrough, this time on True Attack mode which is much harder, in order to obtain the special S Rank materials for some of the gear. Youâll also need a lot of funds to acquire and upgrade everything, so feel free to sell any unwanted materials, and complete Survey missions on True Attack mode to get the best reward funds.
