Destiny 2

Destiny 2 is an MMO first-person shooter, and a sequel to the 2014 Destiny. Set in the far future, players travel to different planets and locations to engage in PvE battles in either solo missions, or three-player Strikes, or six-player Raids. Similar to its predecessor, players can also participate in free roam patrol missions. The game also still includes different PvP modes, which are either objective-based or deathmatches.

The Cabal forces of the Red Legion have launched an assault on the Last City, which destroyed the Tower, the Guardian's headquarters. After finding a new haven known as the Farm, the Guardians begin to plan a counter-attack.

Destiny 2 received positive reviews with an average score of 85%, praised for its overall gameplay and improvements made over its predecessor, including an emphasis on exploration, and its story, though criticized by some for its award system and some boring side activities such as Lost Sectors.

The Platinum for Destiny 2 is significantly easier than its predecessor, but still requires some skills and plenty of time. You'll need to play through the story three times, level up at least one character as high as possible, and participate in strikes and raids. Less emphasis on the PvP related trophies, and no trophies for completing a raid with no members dying.

Expect around 80-100 hours for the Platinum, depending on your skills.

If you've played the previous Destiny on the PS4, then you'll be able to continue with the same characters. You'll first want to play through the main story at least once, while leveling up your character and searching for treasure chests for the subclass artifacts.

You'll eventually need to play through that story two more times, in order to get each of the three subclasses, to unlock the Zavala's Lieutenant trophy for the Titan, Cayde's Pathfinder for the Hunter, and Ikora's Protege for the Warlock. It's up to you if you wish to do that now, or continue on with your first character.

Eventually though, you'll need to start leveling up at least one character to be able to participate in strikes and raids. You'll need to be at least 260-270 light level to complete a Nightfall strike, to unlock the Heart Of Darkness trophy, and at least 270 to complete the Leviathan raid for the Belly Of The Beast trophy. You'll also need to eventually complete the Leviathan raid on Prestige difficulty for The Prestige trophy, and win a match in the weekend Crucible activity for the Lest Ye Be Judged trophy.

Aside from that, you'll be working on collecting 15 exotic weapons or armor for The Life Exotic trophy, and completing a few other miscellaneous ones. Be sure to check out the Destiny 2 trophy guide links under our Links tab to see what you need, and their requirements.

Destiny Trophy Guide

Destiny Trophy Guide. Difficulty: ****  The majority of the trophies are not difficult, though a few are challenging enough to mark the Platinum trophy as difficult to obtain.

Destiny

Destiny is a massively multiplayer online, first-person shooter, developed by Bungie which has previously created the Halo series, exclusive to the Xbox. Players select from three classes and three races, visit various locations on Earth and other nearby planets, while taking part in story campaigns, team-based Raids, and various forms of player-versus-player matches.

Set in the 28th century, the story takes place after the end of a Golden Age in which humans began colonizing planets in the solar system through help by an alien being known as the Traveler. Now humans are on the bring of extinction after the coming of the Darkness, and are beginning to fight back.

Destiny received mostly positive reviews, with an average score of 78%, praised for its graphics and exciting gameplay, but criticized for a lackluster story and repetitive missions.

Aside from being extremely time consuming, the trophies also require you to be good at PvP multiplayer, as well as getting out there and making friends. Unlike other MMOs such as Defiance or DC Universe Online, you cannot breeze through on your own. Raids, for example, require you to have six players in your fireteam, which you must organize yourself.

The Flawless Raider trophy in particular, is what really brings this difficulty up to a 4-star, as you must complete a Raid without anyone in your team dying. This is no cakewalk.

You can expect well over a hundred hours to claim this platinum, depending on your skills and the skills of your teammates.

NOTE: The Trophies on the PS3 share the same list as those on the PS4

Being an MMO, there is no specific roadmap towards getting the platinum. All the main story missions can be revisited, which will be necessary when playing with all three classes. In the beginning, you'll be playing through the story, leveling up and improving your equipment, while completing Bounties and taking part in PvP matches. It's also a good idea as your character starts getting stronger, to get social and make some friends, whom you can team together in the coming Strike and Raids missions.

Bounties are a useful way to gain XP. Since they reset every 24 hours, and you can only add 5 bounties at a time, only select the ones you feel confident in achieving.

Eventually, once you're strong enough, you can start on the Strikes and work towards maxing out your Vanguard score. Destiny was designed to be co-operative, and remaining silent during the Strikes may lead to a poor experience. The more you co-ordinate with you teammates, the easier the missions.

Eventually, once you reach level 26, you will be able to engage in the Raids. These do not have a matchmaking system, which means you will need to find five other players on your own. If you've been making friends this whole time, this shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise, check out the forums in our Links page. The Flawless Raider trophy is by far the most difficult in the game, which requires you to complete a Raid without you or any of your teammates dying. Again, co-ordinating with your fireteam is the key, aside from skills and being careful.

By this point, once you have the Flawless Raider trophy, you can rest easy. The remaining trophies will require some farming and grinding.

Bungie to continue Supporting Destiny 1

Despite the official announcement of Destiny 2, Bungie announced they will continue supporting Destiny 1 “for the foreseeable future,” as stated by David Dague, Community Manager.

Destiny

“Destiny 1 is still a game that will be there for players. We’ve planned to support it for the foreseeable future, so while we do have a sense of finality and closure of [the Age of Triumph] event, we are by no means turning the light off on Destiny 1,” said Dague.

“If [players] decide they want to revisit the things they did in Destiny 1, the game will still be there for them. And, for someone who might join the adventure in progress, and they might want to go back to the beginning and discover how it all started? Those origin stories will be waiting for them.”

While this may not mean we can expect anymore DLC to be released, trophy hunters can find comfort that Destiny 1 will still be available for unlocking its platinum when the sequel is released. Also, despite this announcement being made on April Fool’s Day, we at Trophy Hunter feel confident in its sincerity.

Destiny 2 is set to be released world wide on September 8, 2017 for the PlayStation 4, as well as the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. The game will take place one year following the events of the Destiny: Rise of Iron DLC.

Destiny Sequel Confirmed For 2017

Today, Activision released their fourth quarter 2016 financial results, which not only includes some impressive numbers, but an announcement of some of their game releases for 2017.

The financial report confirmed a sequel for their 2014 online first-person shooter, Destiny. The report states that there will be a “full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise’s global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth.” The Destiny sequel was originally slated for 2016, but was delayed and replaced with the Rise of Iron DLC.

The report also announced changes to the Call of Duty series, which will be going “back to its roots” in 2017.

Regarding the figures, 2016 was a lucrative year for Activision, with revenues up 42% compared to 2015, and a cash flow of over $2.2 billion, up by 71%. The publisher of Destiny stated these results were due to the success of Overwatch, their integration with Candy Crush developer King, and their success in esports.
