Street Fighter V

Street Fighter V is a 2D fighting game and the first title in the Street Fighter series to be released on the PlayStation 4. The game includes four new characters: the Aztec-like warrior Necalli, the Middle Easterner who can manipulate wind named Rashid, the Brazillian fighter Laura Matsuda, , and the new member of the Shadaloo Grand Masters named F.A.N.G. Another new feature includes the V-Gague, which builds through the player receiving attacks, allowing to perform new techniques such as the V-Skills special attacks, V-Reversals counter moves, or the V-Triggers unique abilities.

Taking place between the events of Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III, Charlie Nash has awakened in a tomb following his sacrifice in stopping M. Bison. He is instructed to stop the Shadaloo organization from their heinous plot of siphoning energy in order to grant invincibility.

Street Fighter V received mainly positive reviews with an average score of 76%, praised for its gameplay and graphics, though criticized for its online instability, and lack of single-player and overall content.

Street Fighter V arguably possesses the most difficult and time-consuming Platinum in the series thus far. While a good chunk of the trophies are easy enough to unlock, you will need to grind for XP, grind for 1 million FM, complete Survival Mode on Hell difficulty, win at least 300 ranked online games, and reach the top 10% in online League Ranking. This is a Platinum only handed out to the Street Fighter masters, though certainly one to be proud of.

Though it's possible to unlock the Platinum in just under 80 hours, most average players will require far more time.

The game doesn't require much of a roadmap, since there is so much to do and you can start anywhere. However, if you wish to take the easier to more difficult path, you can probably start by going through the Story Mode. You'll unlock The 16 Trials trophy for completing each of the 16 character stories, while unlocking Mastering The Basics, Your Story Starts Here, One Step Forward, Lucky We Met, Quantity Over Quality, and No Rest For The Wicked trophies naturally along the way.

There are also a few other easy trophies you can knock out during your story mode process, such as setting a character as your favorite for the Playing Favorites trophy, choosing a title for all In A Name, collect 30 replays for Failing To Prepare Is Preparing To Fail, add 30 favorites in the Capcom Fighting Network for both the Not-So-Secret Admirer and Global Network trophies, and practice in Training Mode for 30 minutes for Bodybuilding Is Life.

After that, it's time for things to get serious. Head into Survival Mode, where you'll need to complete 30 fights one after the other on Normal difficulty, complete 50 fights with a single health on Hard difficulty, and complete 100 fights with a single health on Hell difficulty. This is where you'll need some serious skills. Also, completing survival runs will unlock colors for your outfit, which will also unlock The Outfit Is The Highlight Of Battle trophy.

If you can complete that, you should be ready for Online Mode. Your ultimate goal is unlocking the Let's Fight Someone Strong trophy for getting into the Gold League by reaching 4,000 LP. This can only be done on ranked matches, and means you'll need to win far more matches than lose. Getting into the Gold League roughly means reaching the top 10%. On this route, you should unlock a number of online trophies naturally, such as for winning 100 and 300 ranked matches.

In Capcom's tradition of releasing a million versions of each Street Fighter game, we have the first sequel to Street Fighter IV: Super Street Fighter IV. Released a year after its predecessor, the game was originally meant to be a DLC to the original. However, due to its size, the title became a stand-alone game.

While still possessing the same four modes from the original (Arcade, Versus, Trials, and Training), Super has added "Team Battles" to its online features, as well as "Endless Battle" which pits a champion against eight other players, as well as 10 extra characters in addition to the original 25.

Most online game reviewers praised Super Street Fighter IV with an average rating of 92%, most comments matching similar praises to its predecessor.

If you've played the previous Street Fighter IV, than you have a good idea of what's involved to acquire the Platinum. There aren't too many games in our database with 5-star ratings, so it gives you some idea how difficult the Street Fighter series can be when both the regular and Super versions are graded with the highest difficulty score.

If you ever happen to see someone with both Platinums, you know they're hardcore.

Since Super Street Fighter IV has more characters than its predecessor, that means you'll need to clear Arcade Mode 10 more times - on at least Medium. Setting the rounds to 1 will make things quicker.

You will have to win at least once on Hardest difficulty for the Long Time No See trophy. Also, keep in mind you'll need to complete each round in 20 minutes for the Speed Freak trophy.

the Trial trophies - in particular, Trial Athlete - are the most difficult and time-consuming, in which you must complete all 24 challenges with each of the 35 characters. You can check out some Youtube links we've posted under the Links tab for help with this.

Lastly, you have all the online trophies to deal with. A boosting buddy can help with many of these (see the forums under our Links tab) though you'll still need to win 10 ranked matches in a row for the Tenpeat trophy. This is possible to boost, though you'll need to continuously find each other for each match.

Street Fighter IV

Street Fighter is perhaps one of the most popular and successful fighting games in the world, both on arcade and multiple consoles, dating as far back as 1987. The games have spawned several versions to each series (the reason why, after 25 years, the PS3's title is only IV) and even several films.

Street Fighter IV includes all the familiar characters, as well as 4 new ones and 2 secret characters, making a grand total of 25 possible player characters.

The game received exceptionally high ratings, with an average score of 96% for its great graphics, smooth gameplay, and a well-balance of the familiar with the new.

Street Fighter IV is as long and difficult as a fighting came can get. Even the professionals will be playing until they've grown a white beard before gaining the Platinum. Unlocking all the icons and titles should be a platinum in itself - and those are only worth two trophies!

Boosting will certainly make the online trophies easier, which would bring this difficulty rating down to 4-stars. But while winning 10 ranked matches in a row may seem daunting, this is far easier and less time consuming than the trials or individual online challenges just to collect icons and titles.

Expect to be playing this game for a long time.

We recommend starting with the Arcade Mode, getting familiar with the characters while unlocking others. Some of these characters can only be unlocked by successfully beating the Arcade mode with a specific character. Once all that's finished, and your skills are improving, you can start on the Challenge Mode. There are 100 challenges in total, and simply clearing them grants you the Challenge Expert trophy. But if you're gunning for the Platinum, you'll need The Gold Standard trophy, which means getting gold medals for all 100 challenges. This is one of the more difficult trophies in the game - some of these challenges are not easy!

Finally, once you've gotten all the offline trophies, it's time to get online and kick some butt. There are several trophies here which you can boost, so check out the boosting forums we've posted under our Links tab. But Playing To Win! means winning 10 ranked matches in a row. It is possible to boost this, though you will need to consistently "find" your partner under ranked matches, play and win, then repeat the search. Given the game's age, and considering there's a new version out there, not as many people are playing online, which means finding your boosting partner for a ranked match isn't too difficult.
