PlayStation Plus Free Games August 2020

Another month is approaching, which means another month of free games for PlayStation Plus members. Here is the upcoming line-up of PlayStation Plus Free Games August 2020 available for download on Tuesday, August 4.

First, there’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, originally released in 2009 on the PlayStation 3, and remastered for the PS4 just last April. The first-person shooter is the sixth installment in the Call of Duty series and a sequel to the 2007 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The game continues the storyline of Task Force 141, the special forces unit lead by Captain Soap MacTavish who are pursuing the leader of the Russian Ultranationalist party, Vladimir Makarov.

Also, there’s Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, a brand-new game developed by Mediatonic, the creators behind Foul Play and Hatoful Boyfriend. Players compete online in a 60-person battle royale where they must complete randomized mini-games, such as avoiding obstacles to reach the finish line.

Both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout have Platinum trophies to unlock.

The Platinum for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is of average difficulty and requires roughly 15-18 hours to unlock. Unlike the original 2009 version on the PS3, all trophies are related to the campaign and so therefore have no online trophies.

Since Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a brand-new title, we do not have any information on the difficulty or time required for the Platinum. However, this is an online game, and since there are up to 60 players per session, achievements such as coming in first place twenty times may be pretty challenging.

PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2020

Due to the first Tuesday of the month falling late into July, we didn’t hear about the next line-up of free games until today. The good news is, July 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of PlayStation Plus, first launching on the PlayStation 3. To celebrate, Sony is giving away three freebies this month, as well as a free theme, and will host a free online multiplayer weekend starting this Saturday. So, without further ado, here is the line-up for PlayStation Plus Free Games July 2020 available for download on Tuesday, July 7.

First, there’s Rise of the Tomb Raider, the third-person action adventure and sequel to the 2013 reboot Tomb Raider. Laura Croft traverses the freezing environment of Siberia as she searches for the legendary city of Kitezh.

Next, there’s NBA 2K20, the latest title in the popular basketball simulation series. Players can enjoy the return of the MyCareer mode and customize their own players, as well as the return of MyGM and MyLeague modes.

Finally, there’s Erica, a unique FMV (full motion video) game, in which players make choices that impact the results of the story. Follow the main character Erica as she takes you down a shadowy world full of danger, murder, and cultists in this interactive thriller.

All three games in the line-up of PlayStation Plus free games July 2020 have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Erica is the quickest and easiest of the three. If you chose to follow a walkthrough, the Platinum can be earned in around 10 hours.

The Platinum for Rise of the Tomb Raider is of average difficulty, and has no missable trophies since a free roam and chapter select is available. Completionists should take note however, that the game has a whopping 59 DLC trophies for online play.

NBA 2K20 can be challenging at times, particularly for anyone new to the basketball series. More importantly however, you will be looking at hundreds and hundreds of hours for the Platinum, as you spend an incredible amount of time collecting 2,900 cards for the Ultimate Collector trophy.

PlayStation Plus Free Games June 2020

Depending on where we live, some of us may have started leaving our homes and began a social distancing social live, while others may still be stuck indoors in a desperate search for something to do. In June, Sony has the answer to that, with their next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games June 2020 which are available for download on Tuesday, June 2.

First, there’s Star Wars Battlefront II, the first/third person shooter with online scenarios that spans across most of the Star Wars Films, from The Phantom Menace to The Last Jedi. The game also includes a single-player campaign with a story from an Imperial soldier’s point of view, taking place shortly after the events of Return of the Jedi.

And if you’re not into shooting in a sci-fi setting, there’s also Call of Duty: WWII, the 2017 first-person shooter and fourteenth main installment in the Call of Duty series. The game takes place during the events of the Battle of Normandy, with both a single-player campaign and online multiplayer to keep players busy.

Both Star Wars Battlefront II and Call of Duty: WWII have Platinum trophies to unlock.

Star Wars Battlefront II is of average difficulty, though can be quite time consuming with the online trophies. Expect around 100 hours to unlock the Platinum.

The Platinum for Call of Duty: WWII is also average in difficulty, though the Platinum can be earned in half the time. Expect around 50 hours for the Platinum.

PlayStation Plus Free Games May 2020

Another month comes and goes. For many of us, it’s another month of staying at home in quarantine, another month of social distancing from our friends, yet luckily, another month of more free games. Here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus Free Games May 2020 available for download on Tuesday, May 5.

First, there’s Cities: Skylines, a city-building simulation game. Players take on the role of urban planning by deciding road placement and controlling public transportation, handle taxes, decide the city’s budget, while keeping the employment levels up and pollution levels down.

Next, there’s Farming Simulator 19, another simulation game. Instead of creating a busy city, players escape to the quiet landscape of farming territory where they breed livestock, grow crops, and sell their assets.

While it’s a bit strange Sony decided to release two simulators in the same month, trophy hunters will be happy to know that both games include Platinum trophies to unlock.

Cities: Skylines is not particularly difficult so long as you refrain from downloading the DLC, but will certainly require over a hundred hours of gameplay for the Platinum.

Farming Simulator 19 is slightly easier and requires much less time for the Platinum, at roughly around 50 hours of gameplay.

If simulation games are not your thing, these aren’t the only free games available at the moment. As part of Sony’s Play At Home Initiative during the Coronavirus pandemic, both the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey have been available for free for all players as of April 15, and lasting until May 5. Players do not need to be PlayStation Plus members in order to download these freebies.

PlayStation Plus Free Games April 2020

These have certainly been some crazy times, recently. Many of us, depending on where we live, may be stuck at home in lockdown. If you find yourself running out of things to play, here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games April 2020 available for download on April 7.

First, there’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the sequel to Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and the first of the series to be officially released on the PlayStation 4. In this third-person action adventure, Drake is swayed by his estranged brother to seek out the lost treasure of pirate Henry Avery.

The second is Dirt Rally 2.0, a racing game and the thirteenth title in the Colin McRae Rally series. Select from fifty different vehicles and compete in the World Rallycross Championship across tarmac and off-road terrain, while racing through various weather conditions.

Both Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Dirt Rally 2.0 have Platinum trophies to unlock.

If you’ve played previous games in the Uncharted series, then you’ll know what to expect for getting the Platinum in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. You’ll need to find collectibles, get kill-shot trophies, and complete the game on Crushing mode. Overall, fairly average in terms of time and difficulty.

As for Dirt Rally 2.0, the majority of the trophies are quite easy to unlock. However, there are a few that will certainly test your patience, especially for those new to the Rally series. Expect to put a fair amount of time into this own. Also, completionists should take note that the game has 21 DLC trophies, to which the DLC is not included in the free package.

We, at Trophy Hunter, hope you all stay healthy and stay safe.
