PlayStation Plus Free Games March 2020

Compared to the generous offer this month, the freebies for March seem a little anticlimactic. Still, trophy hunters can enjoy two more platinums for their neverending trophy list, one of which is from a challenging yet satisfying game. And so, here is the line-up for PlayStation Plus free games March 2020, available for download on March 3.

First, there’s Shadow of the Colossus, the action-adventure by Team Ico first released in 2005 for the PS2. The game was first revamped with trophy support for the PS3 in 2011, and again for the PS4 in early 2018. Taking place in a vast, unpopulated area known as Forbidden Land, the Wander is on a quest to revive a girl named Mono by defeating sixteen monolithic beings known as the colossi.

Next, there’s Sonic Forces, the speed-filled platformer first released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. This time Sonic is joining up with a resistance group in order to stop Doctor Eggman from completing his evil plan.

Both Shadow of the Colossus and Sonic Forces have Platinum trophies to unlock.

The Platinum for Shadow of the Colossus on the PS4 is arguably much easier than its PS3 version, especially for players who have already conquered this game on older consoles. With multiple playthroughs required, expect anywhere between 20-30 hours, depending on skills and experience.

The Platinum for Sonic Forces is of average difficulty and may take 25-30 hours, depending on skills.

PlayStation Plus Free Games February 2020

Trophy hunters rejoice! Sony is giving away quite a few titles for PlayStation Plus members next month, which means more trophies and more Platinums. Here is the line-up of PlayStation Plus Free Games February 2020 available for download on Tuesday, February 4.

First, there’s the BioShock Collection, which includes BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite, all originally released on seventh generation consoles, and revamped for the PS4. These are first-person shooters with RPG elements, where players defend themselves with an assortment of weapons, including strange genetic-enhancing powers, while exploring a dystopian city underwater and in the sky. The BioShock Collection also includes all single-player DLC.

Next, there’s The Sims 4, the next installment in the popular life simulation series. Create your characters, fulfill your career goals, find love, start a family, and build the house of your dreams.

Finally, as an added bonus, Sony is also giving away Firewall: Zero Hour, a 4v4 online multiplayer shooter for the PlayStation VR. Accept contracts from agents Mother and Father, and complete objectives while fighting off enemy teams.

All games in the PlayStation Plus Free Games February 2020 line-up have Platinum trophies to unlock. This means a possible total of five Platinums.

For the most part, The Sims 4 is perhaps the easiest Platinum to unlock. However, expect to put in at least 30 hours of simulated gaming.

The first BioShock is also not overly difficult if you use an exploit that allows you to complete only the final scene on Survivor mode. Otherwise, all three BioShock titles require some decent skills, but their Platinum’s are still doable for average gamers.

Firewall: Zero Hour’s Platinum is extremely difficult to unlock without boosting.

PlayStation Plus Free Games January 2020

Happy New Year!

Due to the holidays, Sony was a bit late announcing their next line-up of free games for PlayStation Plus members. However, the it was worth the wait – especially for trophy hunters! Here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games January 2020 which will be available for download on January 7.

First, there’s Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, which is actually three games in one. This includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Remastered, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Remastered, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Remastered. All three were originally released on the PS3, then revamped for the PS4 in 2015. The games are third-person action adventures, where you’ll be jumping and climbing your way to treasure, while battling pirates, war criminals, and even a few monsters.

The other game is Goat Simulator, a wacky adventure set in an open world, where players control a goat performing as much damage as possible by running, jumping, and striking objects.

All three Uncharted games, as well as Goat Simulator, have Platinum trophies to unlock. This means four Platinums this month!

Goat Simulator is the easiest and quickest Platinum. Most of the trophies are quite easy, with the exception of a few frustrating ones. Though you can expect to have the Platinum in around 5 hours.

All three Uncharted games are of average difficulty. At least one playthrough on Crushing mode, which is the hardest difficulty, is required. Plus there are a number of collectibles to find, and kill-related trophies to earn. Expect around 15 hours for each game’s Platinum, depending on skills.

PlayStation Plus Free Games December 2019

It’s getting colder out there – and freezing, for some of us. A good time to stay indoors as much as possible, and play some games. And with that, here is the next line-up of PlayStation Plus free games December 2019 ready for download on the following Tuesday, December 3.

First, there’s Titanfall 2, the sequel to the 2014 Xbox exclusive Titanfall. A first-person shooter where players control giant mecha-style exoskeletons known as Titans, as well as their pilots, in an attempt to stop the Intersteller Manufacturing Corporation from setting off their superweapon.

And Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame, a motorcycle racing game which includes athletes, bikes, and tracks from the 250Sx and 450Sx classes. Players can customize both their bikes and riders, as well as create and share tracks with the game’s track editor.

Both Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame have Platinum trophies to unlock.

The majority of the trophies on Titanfall 2 are fairly average and straight-forward, including the online trophies. However, the Becomes The Master trophy requires players to reach the Top 3 on the Gauntlet scoreboard, which is very difficult to do.

The Platinum for Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame, however, is not particularly difficult as the game can be played on Easy mode. The online trophies only involve creating, publishing, and playing races using the track editor. Expect only 12-15 hours for this Platinum.

PlayStation Plus Free Games November 2019

Happy Halloween, everyone! And what better way to celebrate the festivities with a couple creepy games. And so, here is the line-up of PlayStation Plus Free Games November 2019 available for download on Tuesday, November 5.

First, there’s Nioh, the action title with RPG elements released two years ago. A mixture of historical context and dark fantasy, the game takes place during feudal Japan when Tokugawa Ieyasu attempts to unify the country. William Adams, a real-life English sailor who became one of the first Western samurai, is put on a special mission by Tokugawa to deal with the supernatural creatures known as Yokai that have been appearing.

Also, there’s Outlast 2, a first-person psychological horror survival game, released two years ago, and the direct sequel to the 2013 Outlast. Following a helicopter crash, journalist Blake Langermann is on a quest to find his missing wife. He encounters a village in the Arizona desert populated by a strange sect that believes the end of the world is soon at hand.

Both Nioh and Outlast 2 have Platinum trophies to unlock.

The Platinum for Nioh is of average difficulty and has no online trophies to worry about. However expect to put in about 70-80 hours of your time, as there’s a lot to do.

Obtaining the Platinum for Outlast 2 theoretically does not require much time, but can be quite difficult. Not only will you need to complete the game on Insane mode, but doing so without reloading the batteries in the camera and without dying, which can be very difficult for some trophy hunters.
